'Official HOUSTON thread'
Light bulb! I recognized you but couldn't place you. I met you before at another meet long ago. It didn't click until I say your username.

Alright fellas, and ladies if there are any
, lets make this our official Houston thread. To be used for any future Houston and surrounding area meets. With a list of people down to meet up all on one page, we should have better turnouts. In case of a meet, PM would be the way to go to notify everyone.
Checking In!

Definitely will be keeping an eye out on the next meet y'all may have. I actually miss the Houston crew back in the day. Everyone was so friendly and chill. Hope it's still the same lol
I'm down as well depending on when.
Harvey
Imagine loosing all your clothes . Tv. Computers, home. Etc and not have insurance to replace them? Or going home to a fmwhole fifrst floor under water? It wouldnt be so weak if it happened to you. Have some heart. Some of us lost everything.
It *was* pretty "weak AF".
But the following four days of pounding was a different story. *That* was intense AF.
This is an awful disaster and we need to recognize it as such and help where we can.
I've been doing 20 hour days because of this so please forgive me if I'm a bit grumpy. I'm heading back to work in three hours.
Right. But it also made landfall south of Houston. If this was the official ROCKPORT thread, we may have had different outlooks.
Regardless, I agree it is an awful disaster.

Hi, I'm alive. My area flooded up to a bit past the sidewalk, but that was it.

That Toyota is toast. No, wait "For Sale: Immaculate late model Camry, driven only to church on Sundays by my late grandmother. Car has been recently detailed (including underbody) and the interior has been steam cleaned. May need an oil change and some minor maintenance."
It is a staggering disaster for those even peripherally affected.
Pretty sure they were trying to flood it on purpose lol. And when did you find your way into the Houston thread......
Fuck... can't catch a break:
WASHINGTON/AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - Two explosions hit the flood-swamped Arkema SA (AKE.PA) chemical plant 25 miles northeast of Houston early on Thursday, and a sheriff’s deputy was taken to a hospital after inhaling fumes, the French company said.
Arkema said further explosions of organic peroxides produced by the Crosby, Texas, plant and stored onsite were possible, and it urged people to stay away as the fire burns itself out. Black smoke was billowing from the site, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told reporters at a televised news briefing.
The Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday it had temporarily barred flights from the area because of the risk of fire or explosion.
Assistant Fire Chief Bob Rayall said on Thursday that “a series of pops” at the scene led to the fires. “We haven’t had massive explosions,” Rayall said, emphasizing the fires had been contained so far.
Rayall said three of the site’s nine containers with the peroxides had lost refrigeration, and one had caught fire.
Arkema said the company had no way to prevent fires because the plant is swamped by about 6 feet (1.83 m) of water due to flooding from Harvey, which came ashore in Texas last week as a powerful Category 4 hurricane, knocking out power to its cooling system.

During Sandy, we actually used feedback from A-zine to validate some info and used that for fuel shipments.
