Do we have a Friday night count?

Mantis (plus 2)
Inferno (in the STi)
Casper (maybe unless he goes to the 3/8 mile oval--but either way he will be hanging with his Nissan boys)
Bluesman????

Anybody else????

So I was going to get wet tires, maybe a second set of track rims, maybe a stereo system (Alpine 9813 plus Infinity Ref 6000cs or whatever), but now I am going to save my money so I can replace my break pads after each track event:

Subaruparts.com:
Front or Rear set of pads - $320

Front rotor - $369 each
Rear rotor - $319 each

brembo.com:
SET of Front rotors (2) either cross-drilled or slotted - $449
SET of Rear rotors (2) either cross-drilled or slotted - $429

OH MY GOD, they want $640 for new break PADS all around! And nobody has aftermarket that I have found (yet--they will come out soon, I am certain--maybe already out and I don't know).

Original equipment tires (RE070) are available at Tire Rack for $175 each--about the same as the break pads!!!! Of course, they are about $300 each from Subaru--so I think the pads will come down in short order...

so I went to the tracks tonight guys. I suck though... 14.3 @ 98 was my best. It was about 75 degrees out and humidity floating around 50% ... the death of me was those damn 60's. I couldn't get my launch down. 2.2 was average the whole night. I ran a lot of 14.4s and 14.3s all night.

I beat a G35C 6 speed twice.
I beat a 350Z 6 speed.
I didn't get achance to run against this Vortech Supercharged IS300 putting down 270 to the wheels... but his times were slower than mine all night Beaten by association.

I also beat a stock '95 M3 5 speed manual (my friend's who went with me). His best for the night was 14.9. I dunno the trap. It was his first time at the tracks. We had a good time.

I'm gonna wait for cooler weather next time. This ,needless tosay, was a dissappointment. Oh well... Time for nitrous.

those aren't bad runs civic. The 6 speed may be faster, but it also takes more skill, with more launch practice I'm sure you'll bring those times down. And another 15 degrees cooler wouldn't hurt either.

I'm telling ya, it's those heavy @$$ tires that aren't helping.

I bet with lighter tires, and maybe wheels your car would be in the 14.1 range.

Try and make the next Motorplex event on 11/8. I've not driven a manual in sometime, but I'd like to see if we can get that launch down for you.

oh, and great job beating up the competition.

I lost to a Jimmy. Mid 90s style. THat's right... a GMC Jimmy. It was rusted on the the passenger rear 1/4 panel and was a doo-doo brown. Looked and sounded like a POS. It was my first run of the night. I turned over to look at the guy roll up his window when I saw him put on a helmet. I knew I was f*cked. He ran a 12 something. I never found out what was under the hood on that baby.

It may have been one of those Typhoons that came out around that time. They came from the factory with a nice turbo package and ran mid 13s stock. So with some more boost and such it could easily run 12s.

I haven't worked out a meetling spot with the trans am guys yet. someone throw out an idea, like Kmart parking lot at Pleasant Run & I-35 @ 8:30 (southwest corner) or something. That is if you're going that route.

I'd like to go the 35 route, I think it's faster than 287 even for me, definitely for you guys. I'll check with the guys I'm bringing and see if that works for them. If so that K-Mart parking lot @ 8:30 sounds fine with me.

oh yeah, saw a new TL driving in dt ft.worth yesterday. I don't know if i was preoccupied or what, but i almost missed it. I was passing it of course and right as I passed the rear i did a double take. Maybe it was the color or something but it looked pretty bland driving, but I didn't have much time to look at it, the lady was slow and my daily twisty was coming up getting on 280 out of dt (the best part of the drive) so I had to accelerate to hit that at at least 50.

me and the nissan boys meet up at ross & 75 because 45 is much faster than 35 from dallas... more lanes and less cops.

we'll be meetin much earlier than that so hit me up when yall get there.

only thing about ross & 75 is that danny would have to do some serious back tracking. :/

it looks like 45 goes way off east when you need to be west. Where do you guys go after 45?

Saw my first TL at a stoplight yesterday (saw one in the showroom last week), and I wasn't digging the tail on it at all. That's the only angle I saw. Maybe it'll grow on me.

it goes a lil to the east, but not as bad as you'd think. we take 45 to 287, exit 251 I think. there's a sign. once you hit 287, it's 6 miles to the track... very quick. I hate takin 35 now...

The Max stock is 3000 - 3100lbs stock depending on the year and it is only 190hp and most are auto. The SpecV is 2700lbs and is 175 or 180hp stock and they are all 6spd. Stock for stock they beat us, but a modded max beats a spec, so all in all, they are pretty close races usually... plus, those cars with just a CAI have been known to hit high 14s and there is one guy that I beat consistantly with i/e/pulley and a mod known as a balance shaft removal, it adds 6hp and 6tq completely over the power band (i'll explain that later)

for you guys that have played with me, i'm not the best comparison seeing as how i've had my ECU on test mode for a while and didn't know it and i've had that knock sensor bad which doesn't cause the engine light to come on

oh well.. time to end the shit talkin...
