I had a new key made today... $40... they even reprogrammed my other key to a new signal and code for free... Mike Wilson at DMD austin rocks...
plus, they couldn't stretch out to make the new leather they put on my front two seats fit firmly. They're ordering new leather and going to reinstall it next week...
I also had to take my car to the body shop that repaired it back in may. they have to buff out my trunk b/c the acura emblems they put on there were put on before the clear coat set well. when I debadged it showed an engarvement that was ever so slight. they're gonna buff and wetsand a bit. Also they pulled a "make it fit" on the inside lining of the front ubmper and wheel wells so they have to order another one and redo it... I hate all the pain in the ass inconveniences from work not done right the first time...
gotta be without my car all next week. I'm hoping to get my nitrous this w/end or next week sometime and install before november the 8th.

speaking of halloween, a friend of mine at work dressed up as a pregnant white trash house wife. He wore a wig in curlers, pjs, slippers, make up, and had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and a beer. It was hilarious!

I did mine when I was prepping for a track weekend so it hard to figure out what was for the 30K and what was for the track. Mostly it was expensive. Make sure you DON'T skip on flushing/changing ALL the fluids (tranny, breaks). Save your money if you go to the dealer (like $5-600).
I think you could save a few bucks changing the cabin air filter yourself (this is a pretty expensive part of the process but it is simple). There is a thread that details how to do it. If I recall right, the first time is like popping a cherry--you have to break something behind the glove box. Every change thereafter is a screwdriver job.

thanks guys... I just did my tranny fluid at 15K. I probably shouldn't have thouh b/c manual tranny fluid change isn't requested until 60K. I guess at 30K it gives me a good excuse to change out my radiator fluid with some of that neo stuff ruf is using.

forgot about the autoshow in motion mantis?
The Z06 was awesome! But you can only drive it once, and it's way too short. But at least they let you get on it hard.
Drove the H2 which was pretty cool. The new SRX with a V8 is a really cool vehicle, handles pretty well and is quick. One of the most fun vehicles was the Saturn Vue with the 3.5L V6. That think was very quick and was really fun to toss around the track.
I also drove the new E320. Very nice car, it felt bigger than i expected and was faster than I expected.
Overall pretty fun 3 hours this morning.

i thought the corvette was only so-so, but the hummer was way cool. i usually hate those monsters, but when you take it on a hill sideways 40degrees, and one side of your car is nearly touching the ground, while the other is on that hill, thats pretty impressive.
you can ask chris- we had tons of fun with the E320, and other cars in that segment, but our fun also quickly ended after getting the attention of several of their workers and having a short chat with them; specifically, when one guy walked to the middle of the track, holding his hand out to stop us. as i was making that turn, i overheard one lady yell "thats the same people who did it last time!!", and thats what prompted the guy to come out
i'll have to say the luxury car track was the absolute worst, being extremely short, no twisties, and of course the nice people who like to come talk to you and give you personal attention while on the drive we had this ongoing joke to see how many of their workers we could get to come talk to us personally.
:P
all in all, it wasnt bad, but of course being GM sponsored, we expected the quality to be lower. ie the "cafe" where it was only a simple package from jason's deli, and one time only- they took out a punch slot on your bracelet from when you enter. Lexus had a buffet style- with smoked salmon, fancy cheeses, and desserts. oh, and a separate cappuccino stand, and smoothie stand. again, things you cant expect out of GM.
the only regret i had was not driving the LS430, and i was thinking that as we were driving home from the event. thinking back, i realized we didnt stick around that booth because of our "friendly talk" with their personnel during the E320
oh wait, this smiley better shows the guy when he walked in front of the car

soare you guys still going on Nov. 8th? If so, I'll be there... howver my best friend from Allen wants to go and I was hoping he might be able to meet up with one of you guys and ride along on the way down to Ennis. I'll take him back from there after we go to the tracks. What time is the plan for this meet now?

Duck, a similar thing happened during the VUE drive. I was riding with a friend driving it and he drove the hell out of it, squeeling tires and haulin' ass. So then we parked and switched and I drove to the start of the line, and the guy stops me and starts about going to fast and we shouldn't have caught the person in front of us, and we need to keep it under 20. And I'm like well grandma was going 10 so how are we gonna avoid catching her. He was all pissy, so I just said sorry and proceeded to take off and floor it and squeel the tires as much as possible around the corners. ... then we took a break from the suv track for a while...
I think I liked the suvs better just because it felt like you were always driving at the limit since their limits were easier to get to than the cars. And like you said, the luxury car circle sucked bad.

as we walked to the SUV side, we got to talking to some of their workers, joking that others have yelled at us and such..
then the lady asks us to show her our wrist, and we all confused. she explained that we didnt get in trouble at all, because they didnt mark our band. their system is that if they give you a "warning", the punch the GM emblem on your wristband, and if you were to get a warned a 2nd time, and they see it is already punched, they would kick you out of the place. so in essence, we didnt really get in trouble at all. but either way, i felt it was probably time to move on from the lux circuit, which was ghetto anyways.
