It was great seeing you guys. Unfortunately when leaving Ethan's house, my amp and sub stopped working, and although the guys at Car Toys are working from 11-5 today, they refused taking in my car and are making me go tomorrow after school...

Dang, that sux. You check the fuse on the amp yet? Do you have inline fuse on the power cable that goes from the battery to the amp?

Well, here's what happened, the amp wouldn't turn on when I got in my car in Ethan's driveway, and I though possibly the connection got loose. Then I move the amp and found the power cord still connected, so I was like it must be a fuse. I go to Car Toys and the guy comes out and looks at it and says the 2 fuses in the amp (2 25A's) were blown. He go gets 2 more and replaces them. The amp turns on, and we test everything. The sub hit twice then died and the amp was still on. So the guy says it is Easter and he has to work on it tomorrow (despite nobody being there except employees and me and they had 11-5). I say ok, and they put me in for 5 tomorrow after school. Then I leave. At this point, the sub would hit beats for about 10 seconds after the car received electricity. Then my brother (who knows a little about subs and amps) touched some wires and plugged and unplugged the sub from the amp. Then we plug it back in and the amp won't turn on. So I take out the 2 fuse Car Toys changed and they looked fine. So idk what the problem is, maybe Brian can help me b/c he knows a lot? Anybody with ideas?

Judging by what Nelson said...I have pinched wires? Idk what that even means. What is required to fix it, and I hope Car Toys won't charge out the @$$. I had wired everything myself and Car Toys plugged and tuned everything, and they charged me the install price, so they better not...

If a wire is pinched depending how you wired it up it could be shorting out blowing fuses or temporary operation of the sub.

Ya, I knew something was shorting out. But if it was the way I wired it, wouldn't you think it would have shown up earlier? I have had it wired since late January, and I figured it would have showed up by now.

That depends on quality of the wire and how loud you play your speakers on a daily basis...

but if its pinched wires...its bound to happened sooner or later...ur symptoms your having sounds exactly like it...

well judging so far what you type on your post...why they make u come back tomorrow??...when they say its 2 fuses that are blown out why not change them right there??...

my opinion is it doesnt seem like they arent trustworthy or they just lazy

and sorry i missed the meet xD i didnt check the thread till now...and im in town also maybe next time

d-townhakuzo-

I used to work at the car toys in Arlington... if you want, I can give my old store a call and see if their senior installer is there. I'm trying to remember his name I think it's Victor...I know starts with a "V" lol (sorry it's been like 4 years) He definitely knew what he was doing and if you don't mind the drive and can make an appointment in advance, he should be able to hook you up. I'm pretty sure he still works there. I wish I knew how to do installs (I was a sales consultant.), or else I could help ya out myself. Anyways, let me know!

May 15 meet at Peter's place

Shine em up and come on over to the house for the DFW car meet.
This year the Acurazine and S2Ki groups are both invited for some good food and lots of beautiful cars.
The grill will be going and I will have lots of NA bevs, please feel free to BYOB, I may have some also.

The garage will be open if we have any minor mods, otherwise it will be a lot of food and fun.

If we can get o2cls on board again, some rolling shots as well as some great group shots of the cars can be had in nearby westlake.

Please post up if interested so I have an idea of how much food to make.
Past menus have included:
Prime rib sandwiches, carnitas, wings, etc.
Look forward to seeing you there
Linkey for location

Shalin,
You sure you aren't feeling a little mid season (cough, cough) cold coming on.
I am posting up over a month early so that everyone, especially the OG can try to make it out.

Haha, could be that I am! I will see what I can do. Using most of my days off already this year for a Cozumel trip in June. I guess I will go ahead and put my name down for now.

I have no idea. These are wheels that I am looking at buying, but I want to make sure I can get them looking right without spending $$$$$. I am guessing the guy let his wife check the mail in front of the house. Curbage every day for a while till he found out. Looks pretty rough huh?

Yea it looks pretty rough. I was thinking about powder coating my stock 17"s on the TL. Possibly do gunmetal on those. Some of mine have curb rash too, but nothing as bad as that first wheel.

Those wheels will have to be refinished first on the surface before powdercoat. At least thats what I would advise you to do. Reason why I say that is if you powdercoat that all the scratches will show up on those first two and you will kick yourself in the nuts for that lol. But I dunno its up to you I am pretty sure you can find a better set. If you let me know my friend had two sets of those laying around he sold a few months back!

Check with Discount Tire or places like that. They send them off to be refinished . . no more scratches. I think they use Wheels of America.

I would goto Discount tire. the one off NW Highway and 75. Look for a kid named Danny.

He is the shiz....He'll send them off and they'll come back looking new. As far as powdercoating, a friend I used to work with at Raytheon owned a company called Quality powder coating. But him and the co owner crashed their airplane off the coast of Florida last year. He was a good man.
