Well, it is one of my add ons mucking up because I just disabled them all and it works awesome again.

Probably just not compatible with the newest versioning of FF. Should work itself out shortly.

Looks like it was Firefox Sync, which syncs your bookmarks, etc. across multiple computers.

It was an add on. I use Foxmarks. Disabled and now I can continue with my gleeful Firefox life.

wait, you actually have to install an extension in order to sync bookmarks, extensions, preferences, and themes!?!? It's not included in the browser!?!? Seriously!? I thought IE was the only browser that didn't have this basic feature?

What do think of a browser that only does the bare minimum??

You mean a browser that lets me set it up with exactly what I want?

Uh no. You're not forced to use it. But when you want to use it you it's right there, you don't have to manually go find and install some 3rd party extension with apparently shitty code that fucks up your browser so much that you have to disable it which kinda defeats the point of having it to begin with.

Must've been an isolated case because I have the same add-on and I haven't had any trouble.

Yeah, Chrome has never had any problems...

FF has worked 100% for me for years. I am OK with a few hiccups every now and then for something that has been as reliable to me as FF has been. It probably screwed up because I had TWO synch add-ons running at the same time...

It happened RIGHT after FF updated itself, so I have a feeling it will work itself out...

Lemme guess, you got Synch when XMarks said they were going to shut down, but then they didn't?

^^ X Marks FTW. Been using it for years, even though I am now using Chrome. Yeah, I know about Chrome's sync function, but there has to be SOMETHING I use that isn't Google. What's next? An operating system.... Oh wait...

Chrome has one problem that annoys me. The backspace = previous page function is buggy. Sometimes, in a text field, I hit the backspace to correct a typo then BOOM, the previous page loads and I lose all of my work. I don't know if the browser loses focus on the text box or what. I'm taking an online class right now, and it sucks to lose a couple hundred words. You can't just configure Chrome to ignore it either, like you can Firefox. Someone came up with a Chrome extension that blocks it from happening. So far so good, but I'd rather see the developers fix it.

You gotta admit the fact that your extensions break with every FF update is pretty ridiculous. AFAIK Chrome doesn't have this problem. Extensions work on all versions and when Chrome updates automatically you don't have to disable extensions afterwards because they aren't compatible with the new version. Also extensions update automatically as well and you don't have to restart your browser for changes to take effect. Then if you use google sync it syncs your extensions across all computers Mac or pc and when a new extension arrives via sync you don't have to restart your browser to use it

The only problem I have with Chrome bug-wise is sometimes when it crashes (again, very rare) is that most of the time it restores the pages I was on, but other times it doesn't.

Daniel, what the fuck are you talking about? The "fact"??? Do you have any empirical data to support this statement or are you talking out your ass? This is the second or third time EVER I have had a problem with FF, and it's never actually been a FF problem. Therefore, it's a "fact" you are using hyperbole. Also known as "talking out your ass" or grossly over exaggerating. People will take you much more seriously on these topics if you refrain from doing this.

I am glad you like Chrome. Use it. Stop trying to convince me it's better than FF just because YOU think it is. Use it. Enjoy it. Stop telling me my browser is substandard because it isn't. It's different.

Funny that one is hinting that Chrome is better considering on the 4 machines i have installed it on all 3 were buggy and one machine i could never get it to install on. FF on the other hand has always been rock solid for me.

The browser wars have been over for a long time. The Winner? Which ever browser you want to use. To go around saying that browser A is better than browser B, amounts to arguing that Chevy is better than Ford; Canon better than Nikon. Fellatio better than BDSM. Well, maybe fellatio while doing BDSM... Yeah, that would be better.

It's a pot stirred by people who have no idea how to cook.

I use Chrome, because its annoyances don't annoy me as much as Firefox, or IE's. However, it does have annoyances, one of which I mentioned in my previous post. As soon as my browser usage changes, then Chrome's annoyances may drive me to use another browser.

It's pretty much common knowledge that when a new version of FF comes out some of your extensions won't work. That was my personal experience with FF 3.0, 3.5 and 3.6. If you do a search on web you'll find others with the same issues. Thankfully there's a work around hack that can help remedy this problem. Personally, I'd rather not have to even worry about it.
