I'm an Apple fanboy, I'd get an iPad because they all sync together. iPhone-Mac-iPad

Plus I'm familiar with the OS.

Back to the OP. This internet looks amazing, I just saw, they're offering:

1) Free internet (5mbps )

2) $70 (1GB internet UL/DL)

3) $120 (1GB internet and TV)

^^^ i think 1 point which we are missing is the ethernet connection speed is 1GBPS...the wifi (n) connection speed is 360MBPS....

so if you are connected via wifi, dont expect 1GBPS....but then again 360MBPS is awesome....i currently have 12MBPS at my apt....so this will still be a huge upgrade....tooo bad they are not in my area yet

i hope they will be by the time we close on the house...

I get 30mbps wireless at my house. 360 would be a dream. I'm sure once I get this internet I'll more than likely have a desktop hooked to it.

I'd have the desktop so it would be wired (1000mbps) and the laptop for mobile use. I'd probably use the 1TB Drive to backup all my data.

haha i know, shoot i'd take it.

IF they do expand, which i doubt since they are just testing stuff. I hope they add more TV channels cause from my understanding their lineup is weak as of now.

I pay $38 for 3mbit with Cox. I'd rather get "average" internet for free lol just saying. $300 over the 7 year guarantee comes out to just under $3.70 a month.

I see them expanding, but I shit you not I bet there are contracts between the cities/HOAs/etc and the providers which is preventing google from getting in the bigger cities. My complex only has AT&T and Cox as providers, even though Verizon also services the city i live in.

True, but don't tell anyone. Just tell them you have a 1 GB connection and your penis will always be the biggest

Stupid question: If you have the 1GB download but connect to a server that can only pop 30mb, what's the point?

^^^ well Wireless has its limitation....couple years back even though ethernet had 100MBPS capability, wireless was able to do only 54MBPS (Wireless a/b/g)....then with wireless N the wireless capabilities went upto 108MBPS....and either is at more than 500MBPS....

i think google is trying something new where LAN speeds are 1GBPS and wireless speeds are 360MBPS....
