Why I absolutely love Microsoft
Apple's biggest mistake? Telling everyone all their products would have Intel processors a year before all of them would.
Like the article points out, nearly everyone who may have bought an Apple during that period held-out. You'd have been foolish to.
I've a feeling that they'll see some gains this quarter and next, with their most popular consumer level computer now out (and surprisingly affordable - the MacBook), and their two most popular professional products out and on it's way (the MBP and their pro-Desktop, whatever it'll be called).
Nevertheless, it's no secret that Apple can't win share from the big dogs. Basic economics. $3000 is simply more than most people care to pay for a computer... no matter how great it may be.

I wonder if anyone tracks computers purchased just for personal use and not just overall sales that include corporate purchases? It seems to me that Apple's share in this area has to have increased in the last year or so.
