Adaware 6 is usually good enough but while you are at download.com you might as well pick up SpyBot Search and Destroy.

They both tend to get stuff that each other misses.

The newest version of Spybot has a memory-resident scumware blocker, which will keep about 1100 nasty things off your computer. It's referred to in Spybot as "Tea Time." Be sure you let it load at the end of your install.

I also use both Ad-Aware and Spybot.

Dude, find out where the source of the pop ups are coming and then delete the origin... check the startup files and see which files are changing on you... if the dates are changing, then delete that file because that is usually the source of the problem... after you get rid of the program then run spybot and adaware...

Maybe also check the tasks running and see what is weird that u don't know. Find the folder it is in, if it seems fishy, find it in ur registry.

I use these everyday(they all get different ones so I use all of them) make sure you update them before you scan;

spy sweeper
ad-aware
spybot
cwshredder
hijack this
Norton anti virus picks up a lot that the rest can't. You have to manually delete them, most are in your windows and windows/system32 folder.

I also delete all temp folders in docs n setting and the windows folder and all cookies and temporary internet files for ALL profiles. You have to show hidden folders by: tools > folder options > view > click show hidden folders.

Also like everyone else suggested check your running task, everything that has a weird name like qwre or something like that is most likely spyware; these are the ones that a Norton scan will pick up.
If you have any questions PM me.
