New Macbooks and Macbook Pros...?

I am happy they are coming out with new ones because I wanted a regular black macbook for cheap. I use my Macbook pro as a desktop replacement and am planning on getting a 22 inch display for it sometime soon (I edit a lot of pictures so I like having the MBP). But I want a black macbook as an email/internet machine.
BTW this is the best desktop redesign I have ever seen. I am changing my MBP to look like this and I have already changed my XP machine to look like the XP side. Anyone who wants to do it its on Lifehacker.

Wow... I need to do this once I get an apple machine again.

What amazes me somewhat (maybe someone can explain) is the prevalence of freeware for the PC, but something like Candybar costs $29? I am not suggesting this is a lot of money, but there are a few very good theme managers/Icon replacers for Windows (Windowblinds, Iconsort, http://customize.org/ , etc...) that are free.
Why so few freeware apps for MAC?

It's not that much of a theme, just changed icons and dock and then a custom theme for adium (which you should use for AIM - it's awesome), and it's perfectly stable. You can change them all on your own, but it's a pain in the rear end.

I guess I would think that since one is already paying a high premium for the MBP, these add-ons could be included by apple. Maybe not for the regular MB, but the MBP.

I have been using free windowblinds for years. I know I didn't steal it.

Looks like the cats out of the bag.
Well, maybe -- we're not calling it official until Steve pulls the cloth off himself tomorrow morning . Still, there's no denying the similarities between this image and all those other case leaks we've seen, and the list of specs we've been given matches up as well -- that "metal and glass" enclosure now houses an NVIDIA GPU, but no FireWire 400, and video-out is apparently through a connector "more compact" than MicroDVI. We'll find out soon enough -- oh, and just to amp up expectations, Boy Genius says he's confirmed the existence of an $899 part number in Apple's retail systems. Counting down...
Update: Our source just hit us with another pic, this time from the side -- it's after the break. We're also told that there's not one, but two NVIDIA GPUs inside -- we're guessing an integrated / discrete setup like in the VAIO Z, but we'll find out for sure tomorrow.
Update 2: Our source just hit us again to say that it's two full-on NVIDIA GPUs -- sounds like a hybrid SLI setup to us, which is pretty wild. Wilder still, they say the MacBook and 17-inch MacBook Pro aren't getting refreshed tomorrow, which we find hard to believe, but we'll see when we see.

Damn I hate glossy screens!! J.R.? Is PimpCL23 their inside man providing all the pics? Or is this guy just obsessed with the 80s show Dallas and still wants to know who shot JR!?
That $899 laptop is going to good things for Apple.

my 24inch mointor is glossy, dont seem to have too many issues with reflections, only time i get them is when some slight breaks thru my blinds and shines onto the screen.

what time is the press release at?
i wouldn't know whether to go glossy or matte. I have only had matte screens, and never had a problem with them. I've heard great things about the glossy screens though, and that reflections aren't nearly as bad as early glossy models.
I guess it just comes down to personal preference. In the mac store I always like the matte screens, but it is pretty bright in there.

And the 899 isnt a computer. its a new 24" LED display. (current rumor)
rumor says no
Never have any issues with my 24" iMac. Fiancee doesnt have issues with her macbook, and she thought as you do.
And the single glass trackpad with no denoted buttons Man I can't wait to hear from people who always bitch about it only ever having had one button

damn, I never really liked the black keyboard. And the large gap between the buttons, if that picture is accurate.
that track pad looks pretty big, i'm assuming it will have full multi touch.
I like the timing of this, since my laptop just broke, and I just sold my motorcycle, but there is other stuff I want too, and I should be able to get my old ibook working again

grrrrrrr
If it's essentially a "refresh" of the line with a new display, I'm going to smash something. And I'm guessing Wall Street will act accordingly.
