So I noticed a while ago that in iTunes (Windows version) that you can choose the speed to burn at when you burn your CD's.
Well my complaint is that why is it that on the Windows version, they have a list of speed available starting off at 2x I believe, but they only let you burn up to a speed of 24x or Max Available? My Burner supports 52x, but what if I had discs that only supported 48x? Well the outcome of that was basically my disc didn't burn correctly and it wouldn't play properly all the time, sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't. And when this happened I didn't know why until I went into the Options of iTunes and figured out this little computer-unfriendly feature of iTunes. So I set it at 24x and haven't had a problem since.
Even still, I wish they'd simply update the allowable burn speeds in the windows version to account for the higher speed cd burners that are out. I can't remember the last time I saw a cd burner that only supported up to 24x anyways. 48x burners have been out for a long time. at least longer than iTunes for windows has been out.
It's just annoying because I have to set my speed at 24x because the only discs I have are 48x compatible. I'm not impatient, I can go do something else while waiting for the CD. it'd just be nice if it supported a wider range of burner speeds.
My only guess as to why they don't do this, is possibly because they simply port the program from the mac version perhaps and don't bother changing anything to ensure it works
Anyone else have the same annoyance?
All around I think iTunes is a good program, this is just one of those little features that sticks out in my mind that bugs me.
