Yeah, I connected my Wiimote connected to a classic controller via bluetooth and its like I'm ported back to 1996... There is some slowdown (mostly at cut scenes), but again for an alpha build, I'm super impressed.

Remember there was NO ANDROID SUPPORT when the fire sale happened 2.5 months ago. This was all pretty much built from scratch.

^ Make sure to download SetCPU (Free app) and I set my Processor to 1.5 ghz (can top out at 1.8ghz - even the slight bump to 1.5 ghz helps alot.

And imo, ADW launcher (standard home browser on CM7) runs slow... Never liked it and I've always preferred Launcher Pro, or VT Launcher.

VT Launcher is free on the XDA forums.

webOS 3.0.4 77 pushed out to TouchPads, includes new camera app
Derek Kessler

Fire up System Updates, TouchPad owners, because there’s an update to webOS waiting for you. webOS 3.0.4 77 is now available, weighing in at 53MB. Aside from the typical faster/stronger/better improvements, webOS 3.0.4 also includes improvements to the App Catalog that make it “easier to find great TouchPad apps” and a new camera app to let you use that 1.3MP front-facing camera for more than just Skype. We’re downloading now and will let you know if we discover anything else.

HP webOS 3.0.4 makes TouchPad snappier, includes a new camera app, makes it easier to find great TouchPad apps in the App Catalog, and a number of other improvements.

Update: According to webOS chief Ari Jaaksi's blog, webOS 3.0.4 also makes "connectivity with non-HP phones possible" and includes improved messaging, UI touch-ups, and enhancements to Enyo. WebKit, and V8 (the webOS JavaScript rendering engine). Amusing that the info's up on Jaaksi's blog before it's on the official website.
Can't wait to try it!!!!

^ Make sure to uninstall any custom kernels.

And the update does break Moboot, so you'll need to rerun acmeinstaller after to get back into CM7.

Should be ok I assume. Worse case scenario can WebOS doctor it.

The great thing about the Touchpad is that it can literally recover from anything.

Yeah. Seems like it was a very minor update. Some bug fixes, and they added a Camera app that should've been there to start with.

No camcorder yet...

^ Nah Whiskers, if you're booting into Webos fine, then just try rebooting via Device Info in Settings. My physical power button didn't work either until a couple of reboots. Then it magically started working again.

And Miz: CM7 Alpha v2 is expected to launch soon, which will fix the SOD (Sleep of Death) and Battery life issue.

Once those two issues are fixed, I'd say it'd be stable enough to run 24/7.

It has V8 java script engine? So it's like a mobile version of Google Chrome?

CM7.1 Alpha 2.1 is out.

Biggest fixes:

1. Less frequent Sleep of Deaths (SOD).
2. Better battery optimization
3. Touchpad now properly charges on Touchstone.
4. Plugging in headphones now mutes speakers.

^ thank you...

But seriously I don't know what to do, this is my 2nd touchpad, should I keep it and throw CM7 on it?

Selling it, how much can I possibly yield on eBay, a profit of $50-100? Not worth it...

P.S. Eventually Windows 8 will be plausible if someone makes all the drivers.
