I also hate how if there is a flash advertisement or video with sound, sometimes I'll still keep hearing it even if I close the tab/card.

Heck there are times where I have nothing opened, no cards, nothing. And I'll still be listening to the flash video/ad from before.

Splashtop is a total win

I never knew that remote desktop on a tablet would be so useful. It's like you don't even need WebOs, Android, or iOS any more (being a bit out of the limb here but I think you might know what I'm talking about)

Wow, sorry if this is a repost, but did you guys see this great "Get Started" guide? It really makes my touchpad snappier. It's basically a bunch of performance improvement patches and some great recommendations. Give it a read.

Now I see the hype of owning a tablet and why tablets are soaring. It's so convenient.

Pretty sure the facebook app sucks.. Go view a friend's profile on the TP and on your computer.. will be a huge difference in content. The TP app doesn't show all the info.

Update, running warthog @ 1.7Ghz, logging disabled. It is significantly faster on app load and it is very stable.

Issues that hopefully will be addressed is the web browsing experience when dealing with flash and javascript, it fails to render optimally.. Example facebook.com, or hbogo.com...etc

There is a firefox version for TP, it requires manual linux installation, I'll give it ago.

^ try running a game with Warthogs. Mine crashed whenever I loaded a 3d game (like asphalt HD, Need For Speed HD, etc).

Let me know if it doesn't crash, cause I'll definitely re-add the alpha/beta feeds for a 1.7 kernel.... kind of annoyed that they decided to rename/redo the alpha/beta feeds.

^ They didn't decide to change the feeds, they basically decided that too many morons are doing it wrong so they did everything for you see beta testing feeds installation http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Testing_Feeds

Once you manually add permission for the feeds via the terminal... all the feeds you need are added, thus no more manually adding wrong crap.

I'll check out the games, I have to buy them?

^ I got those for free with promo codes. But I brought my TP into work with me today, let me test out Warthogs to see how it handles.

I used to be on the dual 1.8 ghz F15c and man it made the TP blazing fast... I just couldn't play any games.

Just retested and Warthogs no longer crashes the Touchpad, but closes out of games/apps instead (Asphalt 6/Kalemsoft Media Player/Etc).

Tried F4 Phantom and it's just unstable everywhere - crashed once when I tried to switch to 1.8 ghz max frequency, restarted, crashed again when trying to run Kalemsoft Media player.

I do like the speediness of 1.7ghz... But I guess I'll stick to Uberkernel for now.

Got the HP BT keyboard and typing on it now, like it. Keys feel good and it has the TP buttons such as on, off, volume and card switch. Not bad at all.

I guess I shouldve put the post in red?

Cause there are no Facebook apps for tablets aside from the webOS version.. (at least officially).

And yes I noticed that my feeds are missing alot of information.

Maybe I'm not understanding something, it's there a way to create folders like on iPad? As I want to combine all games together, apps together, preware stuff...

I've also added more languages keyboards, pain in the ass

WebOS may be saved

Amazon 'Very Close' to Buying Palm, webOS

By Dave Smith | September 30, 2011 5:52 PM EDT

Amazon.com Inc. is looking to buy Palm and its webOS mobile operating system from the Hewlett-Packard Co., and according to well-placed sources, the online retailing giant is very close to finalizing the deal.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos holds up the new Kindle Touch. If Amazon buys Palm, the Kindle, Kindle Touch, and Kindle Fire could all run on an enhanced version of webOS.

HP is currently scrambling to save itself after the utter failure of its tablet, the HP TouchPad, as well as the entire webOS platform. The company folded both businesses and took a massive hit to its reputation by promising, inventing, and then subsequently killing, "an iPad killer." But webOS still has plenty of potential to make an impact on another successful device. Considering Amazon announced numerous Web-based platforms last week, the company could be a fitting home for Palm and webOS.

On Tuesday, Amazon announced a new line-up of Kindle e-readers, including the Kindle Touch, the Kindle Touch 3G, and the Kindle Fire tablet. The company also surprised everyone by unveiling a new cloud-optimized Web browser called Amazon Silk.

The Kindle Fire will be an Android-powered device, but if the company snatches up Palm's remnants, it could have free reign to redesign webOS to its liking, and optimize the system to further differentiate itself from other tablets and mobile devices on the market. Palm's multi-tasking capabilities could also further enhance the Kindle Fire experience by allowing users to juggle movies, media, and games.

Apparently, HP had wanted to partner with Amazon to build and run webOS for quite awhile. In July, Palm CEO Jon Rubenstein spoke at length about finding a viable partner to expand webOS' "ecosystem."

"There are a variety of different characteristics to qualify a good partner," Rubenstein said. "I would say Amazon would certainly make a great partner because they have a lot of characteristics that would help them expand the webOS ecosystem. As to whether there's been discussions or not... that's obviously not something I'm going to comment about."

Rubenstein didn't need to make any further comments; his actions were enough. Rubenstein, who helps guide product innovation at HP's Personal Services Corp., joined Amazon's board late last year.

HP purchased Palm for $1.2 billion in 2010, absorbing Palm, webOS, and Palm's 1,500+ patents, with intentions to "double down on webOS." But when long-tenured HP CEO Mark Hurd was forced to resign just three months later, Hurd's replacement Leo Apotheker seemed hesitant to jump into the "post-PC world" with both feet, and the company suffered for it.

HP discontinued webOS and the TouchPad in August after only a month on the market. The tablet's demise was due to poor planning, a poor operating system (webOS), and one too many price drops.

In all likelihood, Amazon would only need to pay a fraction of what HP paid for Palm, assuming the deal goes through. HP's decision to cut its losses with the TouchPad and webOS was extremely damaging to the company, and considering how poor the webOS platform was to begin with, HP just wants to close the book on this embarrassing chapter.

Amazon will release the Kindle Fire for $199 on Nov. 15, and its Kindle Touch and Touch 3G for $99 and $149, respectively, on Nov. 21. Amazon dropped the price of its current Kindle model to $79.

In the long run it does.

They can buy WebOS today and start customizing it over the next year.

Next Christmas they come out with new Amazon devices running their very own "Amazon OS" (Doubt it will keep the webOS name)

I'd bet anything they will want to make Phones next, and having their very own OS will give them an edge.

What that means for existing webOS devices remains to be seen, but even if they changed the OS name, I would think any apps made for the new Amazon OS would be backward compatible.

Now that I think of it, by next year the My touchpad will either be Worthless or fully running Android lol. Oh well.

Everything... that's the beauty of it over iPad...

I've played so far, m4v, mpg, avi, mkv...

Just create a folder (when you are connected to via USB to pc) and then drop anything you'd like, it will find it, np.
