from datavis:
what a bunch of horse shit!! so are they telling me that they placed an order for touchpads from HP and are currently waiting for them to ship it to then?????
Update Monday 8:38 on Datavis Facebook Wall
Thank you for your patience, and we are sorry for the delay. This was our first day in from being closed for Irene. We unfortunately have not received the tracking as I hoped to have passed on to you at this point. The money has been drawn from our account, which we assumed was a good sign.We will give this another day or two before we decide what to do. If you have questions, please EMAIL us directly, as your names do not have contact info/order details and we would like to address everyone.

when they said that the touchpads are enroute to them???
how could they not have a tracking number of some sort if the touchpads were already on their way to them...
something smells fishy here.

Got the case in the mail today. Still no Touchpad though.
*edit* HP SMB shows a requested ship date of 9/6, even though order date is 8/23 and ship date is 8/23. I just hope the damn thing shows up eventually.

Finally my 32GB is on Fedex Vehicle "Out for Delivery". This is the one I ordered from HP on DAY ONE of the sale ugh
Got one more remaining from Bestbuy yet to arrive. Hopefully today as well. UPS status just says "Transferred to local post office for delivery" Makes no sense.

There's one or two things I want:
A better Twitter client. I want Tweetdeck, but I don't think that's going to happen. Spaz for some reason doesn't automatically refresh. I also want a true sports notification service, similar to what ESPN Scorecenter on iOS does.
Pulse, but hopefully that's coming soon.

HP: TouchPad will receive OTA update for added 'functionality'
HP may have abandoned the TouchPad, but that apparently won't stop the company from issuing a post-mortem OTA update for its webOS tablet. Yesterday, an HP spokesperson confirmed to CNET that "HP TouchPad owners can look forward to an over-the-air update that will enhance the platform and add functionality and a growing applications catalog." The rep didn't offer any specifics, but reaffirmed that HP remains "fully committed to the ongoing support and service of customers who purchased webOS devices." The news comes on the heels of a Quickoffice HD update that dropped yesterday, and at a time when TouchPads are selling like hotcakes -- which probably explains HP's decision to issue a tweak. Indeed, the company went on to say that it's seen "huge spikes in activations and between 3-5X downloads of apps," since the TouchPad fire sale first launched.

I bet anything that the update will enable android apps to work on webOS. I remember them talking about making this happen a while back.
That would fookin rock. webOS with Android apps? Double win.

HP SMB said if you ordered and you didn't get cancellation email but credit card hold is gone, then order cancelled.

So I just had a lovely talk with an HP rep...
6-8 weeks wait time on most orders from that Saturday to Monday (4am), why? They are actually manufacturing more touchpads to fulfill orders. $#@###$$#!!!! ok, I'll sit and wait quietly, and use my touchstone as a book holder.

did they indicate that orders without CC hold will be honored?
