start>program files> Command Prompt

i once downloaded this video of kazaa, it was SUPPOSED to be a MILF putting on pantyhose, but instead it was a 40 year old female midget, a real midget, having sex....it was nasty, and it would not delete...i had to use command prompt.

Hit CTRL+ALT+DEL. In Win9x and Me(I think) a task list should pop up and halt processes on your computer. Look for the stupid program, kill it and then delete the EXE. Do the same for NT4/2K and another window will popup, click Task List. Select the process tab and end the task (the name of the .exe) and you should be able to delete it. In WinXP, depending on ur config, u can either use the above method listed for 2k/NT. If that doesn't work, right click an empty area of the task bar, u should get a popup menu select "task mnaer". Again, select the process tab and end the process, then delete it.

Knowing a lot of these programs startup when u login, there's another way u can stop it. Most of the time, it uses the registry to automatically run the program. If it's machine specific, the program would put a pointer here to tell Windows o automatilaly launch it.

1. Run Regedit
2. Look Under : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

3. Locate the registry entry that points to the name of the exe that is launching. Delete the entry and delete the file.

Hope this helps.

There a real asshole site called Xupiter that downloads a bunch of crap WITHOUT your approval and AD-AWARE can't catch it. Try Spy-Bot it gets more updates for all the newest bastards out there: http://security.kolla.de/

See my post above. Xupiter usually gets on ur comp through IE. When u lower all the permissions, it allows a website to isntall with or without ur consent. Xupiter puts a registry key in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run Key so that everytime you login, it launches. They put it here cause it's less obvious then in the folder: \documents and settings\[username]\start menu\programs\startup and fewer ppl are less likely to find it.

That being said, you can disable it pretty easily in xp by doing a run (start -> run) of msconfig, click on the 'startup' tab , and turn off whatever you want.

It's useful for getting rid of annoyware like realplayer too.
