if i wanted to, i could buy the $29.99 plan b/c i hardly talk.

also, you must have the $45 talk plan and insurance? 90 bucks on Tmobile is absurd

Wow my battery is getting gobbled. And these USB chargers for Apple are crap. My kid sucked on two of them to make them not work. I exchanged one at Apple yesterday. They're $19 there. I ordered a $1.57 replacement from ebay.

yeah I heard reports of it taking over 3 hours. reminds me of the iOS 2 days when just syncing alone could take an hour.

 

sidekicks aren't smart phones at least not on the level of an iPhone or Android device. Google is trying to coin the term superphone for these level devices besides google I've heard that term used once. but yeah a sidekick is just a glorified dumbphone.

 

If my 3GS is jb'd can it be used with a Canadian carrier? I'm gonna be in Vancouver (again) in July, I'm wondering if I can sell it for more up there

My restore for my 3G S took like 20-30minutes for the entire process.

Oh. But the thing is...EVERYTHING in Canada cost more. But yeah, it might be too much effort. I don't plan on making money off of it. I just want enough to pay for a 16g + tax which is around $260

Well that's a loaf of bull! A guy from mountain view got his iPhone 4 today. Based on his fedex tracking print out, looks like his and my phone were on the same damn plane, yet mine is stuck at Oakland, w/ no new updates

 

actually it was on of the first devices to be coined a smart phone.. and flaunted many of the features we think of today as being fairly new on the market, 8 years ago.

but i wouldnt go as far to call it dumb, when its been what, 2 years maybe since iphone users could even send/recieve picture messages? and multi-tasking hit when? today?

multi-tasking has been around since 04' on the sidekick II... and true multi-tasking at that.

the reason im letting it go is the line will no longer be produced and my contract is coming up. if it werent for that.. i wouldnt budge.

lulz at anything that isnt an iphone/droid bing "dumb" when the iphone is years behind on simple task that "dumb" phones have been doing for years.





im looking forward to getting my new iphone when the time comes.. but some of the wave of elitist that come along with it is almost a deturrent... especially the ill-informed ones.

you just proved Google and my point, the term smartphone doesn't apply. If the sidekick is a smartphone then the nexus one, evo 4g, iPhone 4 are superphones. The iPhone has 32GB of storage, 512mb of RAM, shoots HD video, has noise cancellation, front facing camera, backside illuminated 5MP camera, gyroscope. Please let me know what model of sidekick has anything remotely close to any of those features? The iPhone's specs are pretty good for PC from 2004 except for maybe drive space.

While the sidekick was cool when it was announced it hasn't done much sense and has been left in the dust just like blackberry. Blackberry is only popular cause there phone are very low priced or buy one get one free.

By todays standards yes the sidekick is a dumbphone. By the standards of years ago it is a smartphone along with Nokia s60, the palm treo, samsung blackjack, etc. Look where those OSes are today.....nowhere.

 

I'm finally joining the crowd. My fiancée pre-ordered a 4G iPhone for me as a graduation/birthday/anniversary gift. I'm excited.

I'll be able to dump my iPod Color...and this'll be a nice step up to my Treo 680...haha.

Here's to hoping the order doesn't get canceled!

I've owned a lot of cell phones since 1998, and the iPhone 3GS is by far the best phone I've ever owned (by many folds). I'm sure the 4 will be the same for you.

I doubt it'll get canceled... the question is... if you'll get it by the estimated delivery date

 

if you read one iota of my post without already having a reply ready in your head, you would realize i did not mention one thing about the iphone that is releasing this week.
the comparo's were relative to the iphones up untill this point.. as the new one still isnt released.

you'd also see that im a believer in the iphone 4... but you were too busy making points about the new phone to see what i was talking about.

the iphone4 is, in my opinion.. the first phone that offers just about everything you could need. which is why i will be buying one.





side note... multiple phones support unlimited micro-sd card memory, such as the SK, BB etc.... i've had 16 and 32GB cards in my phones for the last 2 years but for apple being first once again, after the fact.

Are their any jailbreaks for the ios4? What about unlocking with a 05.13.04 modem firmware? I want to try and unlock this and ebay it and try to get something for it (maybe $50 or $100).

I also have a confirmed reservation from Apple that I will end up not using.

Meanwhile I also discovered a crack near my silent switch. Appointment @ Apple Store tomorrow to exchange the 3gs for a factory fresh one which will be sold.

 

I noticed this too on my 3g. Folders are nice so I can group all the junk apps that you can't delete that apple kindly gives everyone.

 

I pre-ordered from the AT&T site and I got a tracking number. Mine shipped and is arriving tomorrow (23rd).

 

Yea, Love the folders, worth the upgrade. I now have my 4 pages of apps down to just the one.

there's just too much stuff i need to switch over email wise and accounts that need to be changed. paypal mostly.

Uh I can go over all the features in the iPhone 3Gs that a sidekick doesn't have to, like a compass, accelerometer, multi-touch, video recording, tap to focus camera, GPS, search, a full website rendering not WAP only web browser, stereo A2DP bluetooth audio, Nike+ sensor, voice control, 32gb of storage (not new to the i4), 620MHz processor, 256MB of RAM (again not too bad for a 2004 PC).

The term smartphone is a moving target, Windows XP when it was released in 2001 was a "modern" operating system, now 9 years later it's a joke compared to Windows 7. There's so many thing that 7 does that XP doesn't and what XP does do 7 does it better. The thing is Sidekick hasn't innovated since 2004 it's pretty much where it started at, while the iPhone every year gets better. My 3G was the shit when it came out 2 years ago now I pretty much hate it cause it's slow and outdated.

Please don't compare carrying around multiple SD cards that you had to pay extra for to equal the storage of an iPhone. Especially when they all look the same and you don't know which card has what and you have to turn the device off and take out the battery to swap the SD cards and wait a minute to boot it back up just to see what's on it. It's clearly obvious that large amounts of integrated storage >>>> shuffling sd cards.

 

Is it a prepay phone number? Those are the only ones I've heard can't be moved.

32Gb's on a card are not as good as internal storage? smoke much crack? it serves the same purpose, and i've never had to "shuffle them in and out of the phone" lulz....

and if you knew much about specs, you'd realize that numbers mean nothing if not being used efficiently...
i can pretty much guarantee that with 4 applications running at once, my phone would still run more efficiently... actually, its instantaneous...

quit making assumptions about my "dumbphone" and go back to sucking the tit of yours... i dont have a problem with the iphone... its the sheep that believe its been the end all be all phone since it came out that are the problem.
