Apple: iPhone News and Discussion Thread
I'm gonna step down from the XS Max to 11. I'll miss the OLED screen a little bit but the smaller size, aluminum band with better signal reception, and all the new features I care about make it a decent upgrade for a cheaper price. The pro is uglier and I'll never use the camera features enough to be worth it. The 11 has the ultrawide lens, night mode, and improved FaceID.
I really like the series 5 watch though. Gonna sell my series 4 and upgrade, I might upgrade to the cellular model

I called Apple and got it sorted out. I had to cancel my preorder redo it. If you go into the Apple Wallet app you can view the Apple Card 16 digit number, CVV, and exp, I was able to manually enter that in and it works. Not as seamless as I expected, I thought there'd be a use Apple Pay button or something like that, that's what threw me off, that and the fact that there's no 16 digit code on the physical card.
XS and XS Max are currently $100 off new
Here's an FAQ I did on the Macrumors.com forums for preordering and various other crap re: iPhone purchases, financing, etc.

I did. I went from a 6plus to a 7plus to a X and and Xs. But it was a smaller phone with a bigger screen.
But I’d like the bigger screen now. And I think it’s better for typing. I just don’t want the extra size again but I think I’d get used it again.

I have a silver 256 unlocked XS Max in pristine shape with Apple care till September 2020 and a crap load of cases including a few Apple ones and the Apple battery case. I am thinking $900
I have a 44 Series 4 aluminum in space gray with cellular in good shape. Some very minor scratches on the display (which seems to be normal for the aluminum models. I'm thinking $200
I would do $1000 for both.

I am waiting for the benchmarks to go public.
On the face of it, I am not seeing a reason to upgrade unless the A13 blows it out of the water with benchmarks.
Although I believe Apple’s statements, I want to see it in black and white from testers.
Without a significant performance improvement, the changes they have made are not drawing me in.
My XS Max with smart battery is strong enough that I now go almost everywhere without my MacBook.

I'm going to trade in my XS Max and get the 11 Pro... (non Max). I don't need that massive phone, the screen is nice and all but since the phones are identical except for the screen size I'm going to downsize I think. Still shocked they are doing 64GBs.... Going to have to get the 256GB one for sure again.
Even when somebody defies protocol and makes me read a huge document all in one file, it is only a temporary situation and I delete the file after approving it.
Big photos and permanently necessary files are on iCloud and even big files on my iMac can be retrieved that way.
If you’re somebody who needs a thousand photos on your phone, or you value the excellent photographic capabilities to the point that you use your iPhone professionally for that, I understand.
But I do not believe that Apple is off the mark suggesting that most of us do fine with 64 GB.

I think.
I admit I've said that before.
And.....grammar nazi must speak up....LOOSE.....LOSE......LOOSE......LOSE......
I'm still thinking that I will not. First time since, what...I think 2009?
I said that I would not order last year, but then the multi-SIM support big screen Max, and extra T-Mobile bands won me over.
This is the most likely year ever that I will not order.
They need to hurry up with the real tests, and then I'll know for sure. :-0
