Apple: iPhone News and Discussion Thread
The embargo is over now and reviewers who have had an iPhone X for close to a week are beginning to file their reports and put up their videos, if you want to look for your favorite reviewer online.
Just read the CNN review. Man that reviewer sounds like a 5 year old.
They only have 24 hours to review the X (WTF?), FaceID works great indoors but can have issues outside or in fluorescent lighting. You get used to the notch but apps need to be updated but it's still weird in a few instances like viewing videos, and safari. It doesn't get the big screen features of the Plus like safari tabs (not sure about split view in iMessage)

You should hold the device up the same way you first established Face ID.
Anyone else received their tracking numbers? Looks like mine left Memphis yesterday morning and should arrive with FedEx by 3:00pm Friday. Except no one will be home to sign for it so I'll guess I'll have to leave work early.

The X fails the twin test, seems the odds are a lot lower for twins than Apple implied

The only thing I've ever seen from Apple was a warning that identical twins could fool each other's Face ID.
Do you mind if I ask where you saw that Apple implied [sic] that it would be otherwise?
As identical twins grow up, their life circumstances will cause them to look enough different that their friends can tell them apart. The trouble is, the things about them that are measured by the emitter and IR camera will likely still be the same.
The depth difference between your two cheeks, and the distance of your nose tip to the two cheekbones, the subtle size differences between left and right eyes, that kind of thing...those things will be the same and likely remain the same for identical twins, all their lives.
Apple has gone so far as to disable some features of the Qualcomm modems so that it will not appear to anyone that there is a superior iPhone version that is more desirable.
They disabled gigabit LTE and Band 71 on the Qualcomm modems, for example.
But, believe me, if it sounds like Apple wants to go all-Intel, you can bet your bottom dollar that Intel will come up with a superior modem.
On the off chance they do not, I'm enjoying my V30 more and more. :-)
The latest thing I've noticed is that the V30's Bluetooth performance and compatibility is much better than my Intel chipped 7 Plus's Bluetooth ever was.
Hmmmm....

Yeah it is a Christmas gift so didn't care to have it right away but never expected it to take 5-6 weeks. As long as it gets here in time for the holiday I don't really care.

Do you have an iPhone that hasn't been working well with your Acura or Honda Bluetooth after upgrading to versions of iOS 11 ?
You're not alone.
We spotted this in beta, and reported it, but I guess there weren't enough of us reporting it for Apple to pay attention to it.
If you're somebody whose Bluetooth is glitchy after iOS 11, you can use the link above to report your experience.
If enough of us do it, maybe they'll finally pay attention to the complaint.
*Contacts no longer showing up in place of numbers in recent calls lists
*Frequent connects/disconnects
*People at the other end can't hear you or hear static
*Pandora and other Bluetooth applications no longer connect
Meanwhile, the LG V30 works perfectly. It's not the Hondas, it's the iPhones.
