Hmm just used my 10W iPad charger to charge my 6 Plus from 14% to 50% in 30 minutes, would be faster with the 12W model. ![Shrug](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif)
Isn't the new note 4 supposed to charge from 0% to 50% in 30 minutes?
I did read a blurb saying that they increased the charger amperage to 2Amps for the note 3 and S5. And slightly increased it more for the note 4.
Not really any special trickery IMO there. Just a change in charger and how much power the phone itself draws to charge, just like what Apple did (except the provided larger charger).
Not trying to bash Samsung.

ATT has a thing until the end of the month where you get $200 in store credit for a 4 on. Sold an old 4 for it today.
Finally had time to go to an apple store today to check out the plus.
1) I can't believe there are still fools standing in huge lines outside the store to get a phone...When you can simply order and reserve online.
2) the plus is HUUUUUGE. I was able to use it fine in one hand, but pocket space and lack of being able to be discreet with it has me conflicted.
I'll probably still end up with the plus...but fuck its big.

Never heard of Apple Recycle. I'll have to look into it. Thanks
Yeah, you get a ton more when the phone is unlocked. Which is great.
That's good to know. Sucks they offer the same price for the 4 as they do the 5.

BendGate Truthers Claim To Have Found The REAL Story Behind The 'Flexible' iPhone 6
By James Cook 12 hours ago
YouTube/Unbox Therapy Were news reports that the iPhone 6 is prone to bending actually a plot orchestrated by mainstream media? That's what some Apple fans are starting to say after forensically analyzing the original video that broke the BendGate story.
Here is a breakdown of the theory that suggests Apple is merely the patsy in a wider conspiracy to defame the company's not-bendable products.
As Pocket-Lint reports, there may be something strange going on with the time shown on the iPhone 6 in the original video that caused the story to go viral.
Reddit user "akrosdabay" has written this analysis of why people are starting to call foul over BendGate:
When he is bending it with his bare hands, the phone shows 2:26 p.m. Then, talking about it that later claiming it has bent as a consequence of his actions earlier in the video, the phone shows 1:58 p.m. Then later when he is summarizing, the time on the phone is 1:58 - 2:00 and has a bend in it. Then it shows 2 p.m. and the phone is straight with some possible damage near the volume button.
Canadian YouTuber user Unbox Therapy created the video, and Apple fans are beginning to accuse him of subterfuge to inflate just how bad the bending issue is.
Reddit user "tittywagon" was one online commenter who is skeptical of BendGate: " The hoodie, glasses, backwards hat. The guy is a side-show idiot who blew it way out of proportion for YouTube views."
The "iPhone In Canada" blog goes one step further, blaming mainstream media for the controversy: "Bendgate actually happened in 2012 — but was missed by the mainstream media."
Reports had surfaced in 2012 that said the iPhone 5 was susceptible to a similar kind of bending as the iPhone 6 Plus. However, the issue didn't gain anywhere near as much attention as the current controversy.
Apple has weighed in on BendGate in a decisive manner. On Thursday the company revealed how it puts devices through a number of stress tests, allowing CNBC to film the company's testing facility.
A statement was also emailed to Business Insider that played down concerns over a widespread structural issue with the iPhone 6. Apple told us that "through our first six days of sale, a total of nine customers have contacted Apple with a bent iPhone 6 Plus."
Apple's full BendGate statement is below:
With normal use a bend in iPhone is extremely rare and through our first six days of sale, a total of nine customers have contacted Apple with a bent iPhone 6 Plus. As with any Apple product, if you have questions please contact Apple.

Apple's full BendGate statement is below:
Our iPhones are designed, engineered and manufactured to be both beautiful and sturdy. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus feature a precision engineered unibody enclosure constructed from machining a custom grade of 6000 series anodized aluminum, which is tempered for extra strength. They also feature stainless steel and titanium inserts to reinforce high stress locations and use the strongest glass in the smartphone industry. We chose these high-quality materials and construction very carefully for their strength and durability. We also perform rigorous tests throughout the entire development cycle including 3-point bending, pressure point cycling, sit, torsion, and user studies. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus meet or exceed all of our high quality standards to endure everyday, real life use.

Now we've gone full retard. Conspiracy theorists.

I believe it - look at all the evidence supporting the build and structure of the phones - it does not add up to how flimsy it appears in the bend videos.

Not in the ATT store I went to today. No new plan, no new phone. Just happened.

One I traded in was crapped up, the back was replaced by a $15 knockoff back and locked to ATT. $200

But the question is will ATT let you upgrade before your due date? The lady on the phone kept trying to get me to sign up for some payment plan. I shall find out at the store tomorrow.

She probably tried to get you to switch to ATT NEXT...which I hate the idea of a monthly payment for a phone, but the money works out any which way you slice it.
After 12 months, you are eligible for a "partial" upgrade. So, if I wanted to buy a 128GB Plus...My current cost would be $750 vs $950 full price. Sell my iPhone for $300 minimum....$450 bucks vs $499 if I was eligible for a full discount right now.
ATT NEXT you pay that $499 over one year in payments and then you can upgrade to a new phone in 12 months (or 18) The idea of leasing a phone is lost on me. I'd rather just pay.

id much rather believe a more credible source like consumer reports than some random youtube sensation.

So Consumer Reports shows that the iPhone 5 can take almost twice the amount of pressure as the 6 and HTC One, yet somehow that's okay? They don't say what an acceptable level of pressure is. For example would 40 pounds be okay?

As for Bendghazi, I'd like to see how much pressure it takes to bend it at the point where all the ones I've seen bend - near the rocker. If that's the structural weak point in the case, it would be good to know.

Was in the Apple store and almost tried to bend one

Heads up for AT&T Next customers:
Sign-up by October 31st to get 30GB of Truly Shareable Data, 2-10 lines, Starting at $160/month | AT&T
Even if you are on a standard contract, you might come out the same or better with a share plan. YMMV. Yes, I know, it's hard to give up unlimited. Been there, done that.

Here's how they should test it. Get some skinny dude in skinny jeans to put it in his pocket for a while so that it warms up to 90-95F from his body heat then have him do a few squats and see if the phone gets bent after a while.
I haven't see it mentioned whether the phone was warm or not when try to bend it, I bet it makes a difference.

if i could get that many views, id goto the apple store, ask a genius to let me try bending their display phone. If im able to, ill even take my personal phone and try to bend the shit out of that.

You're not skinny, phone is more likely to bend when wrapped around skinny hipster legs
