If you get the family plan 4 lines or more you get 2.5gb LTE and then they slow your speed down but you still get unlimited data just at slower speed. 3 lines or less you get 1gb of LTE. I am expecting the service to be worse then At&t but for 50%-60% of At&t's prices i am willing to sacrifice the service.

Yeah that's why I got my Note 2 a couple of years ago. I didn't feel like lugging around a tablet let alone buy one. Larger phones really do hurt tablet sales. And you'll get over the douche thing especially now that phablets are mainstream.

Got my 6 last night and I love it. One thing I noticed though is letting it sit overnight. With my 5 the battery would go down maybe 5% but with this it was like a 30% drop. I did notice this phone was only running iOS 8 and I updated it to iOS 8.0.2 this morning.

Anyone else have this issue? 64GB, but not the plus.

I still have my 5 with ios 8.0.2 and, maybe I'm just seeing things and making assumptions by reading other posts on here, but it does seem like my battery is getting drained quicker.

Turn off any and all things that may come on by default? Like bluetooth or location type services?

It's fine on my 5. But I also replaced the battery a couple months ago.

Interesting. I didn't notice a difference on battery with my 5 when I upgraded to iOS 8.

Yeah, I made sure all that was done. I will double check again tonight before bed.

Well I updated to 8.0.2 so we'll see what happens. Hopefully it was just a fluke because the battery during the day is awesome.

I am still using my 4S (yeah I know, but if it works don't fix it) and have definitely noticed since upgrading (8.0.2) that my battery definitely drains significantly faster. I always close the open apps and don't have location services turned on.

I have also noted that it is a little slower/sluggish and have definitley seen issues with text messaging.

Two ways I have read you can fix that on the 4S with iOS 8.

1)

General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion -> On

2)

General -> Accessibility -> Increase Contrast -> Reduce Transparency -> On

I don't have a 4S to try it on this is just what I have read has worked for some people.

It seems the 4S is slow on iOS8 like the 4 was slow on iOS 7 last year.

Bluetooth is always off and I usually have all my apps closed except msgs and wwf or another game, same as before I upgraded to 8.0.2 and I am sure now it drains it faster.

The issue that still pisses me off with text messages is you read them once, twice, even 3 times and it still says it is a new message and hasn't been read. So fking annoying :firstworldproblems:

Which issue are these supposed to address?

I know exactly what you are saying. I can even respond and/or exchange multiple texts with that one person and it will say I have 13 new/unread messages.

They're basically graphical changes that are supposed to help speed up the process. Again I don't have a 4S this is just what I have read. I'd say try it and if it doesn't work you can always change it back.

Mine drains between 5-10% overnight, you must have an errant app running all kinds of updates in the background. Check your power usage

Mine drains about 5-10 overnight as well, but it used to be a lot less. But in genreal i find it is draining much quicker. Make sure to reboot your phone once a week. This way you know all apps are closed. Other than this I am looking forward to an update that addresses this.

So Im being told that Verizon's Iphone's (5 an up) are basically unlocked if you buy them outright. Some say you just need to boot it up with the other carriers SIM card in it at first but it works. Can anyone here confirm?

FWI, these are Apple factory refurbs and unlocked.(GSM) New Home items in Factory Certified store on eBay!<--clicky I think I'd rather hold out for a 5c or 5S though. Looking for something to put on Straight Talk. The Straight Talk website has refurb 5c but they don't have the apple warranty.

8.1 is out.

Apple today released iOS 8.1, its first major update to iOS 8. First seeded to developers at the end of September, iOS 8.1 brings quite a few significant features to the operating system. The update activates Apple Pay, enables Yosemite users to access Continuity features like SMS relay and Instant Hotspot, offers all iOS 8 users access to iCloud Photo Library, fixes several bugs, and more.

iOS 8.1, build 12B410, is available immediately as an over-the-air download and after updating, it will allow iPhone 6 and 6 Plus owners to access Apple Pay, Apple's new payment service. With Apple Pay, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus can be used to make payments in both retail stores that support NFC and participating apps. Apple has also released Apple TV software 7.0.1.

ios81release
Also included in iOS 8.1 is support for SMS relay, a Continuity feature designed to allow Macs (running Yosemite) and iOS devices like iPads to receive SMS messages routed through a user's iPhone. Instant Hotspot is also enabled through the iOS 8.1 update, letting Mac users remotely activate the Personal Hotspot capabilities of an iPhone when two devices are near each other.

Along with those major features, iOS 8.1 reinstates the Camera Roll, which was removed with iOS 8, and it gives all iOS 8 users access to iCloud Photo Library, Apple's new cloud-based photo storage solution. The removal of the Camera Roll turned out to be a controversial decision, with Apple opting to re-add it after iOS users asked for the feature to be returned.

iOS 8 has not been Apple's smoothest software release, with users encountering quite a few bugs in the operating system. While multiple issues were fixed with iOS 8.0.2, released in late September, iOS 8.1 fixes several other bugs, including a problem that caused some iOS 8 users to have trouble pairing their phones with their Bluetooth devices.

Didn't really see anything about reducing incremental battery drain, but will take what I can to get back to where I was before.

What's everyone's thoughts on the keyboard? I think it's worse than the iOS 7 kb. The text prediction is pretty weak especially because it only gives you two options while Windows Phone gives me at least 10 options so I'm more likely to find the word I'm looking for. IDK if the iOS one is supposed to get better with time but even the two options it gives aren't usually what I want.

Plus I've notice some bugs with it. If I type word that it doesn't know and iOS replaces it with a word that it thinks I want when I select the word it put in to replace it with the original, while it shows up in the list when I select it the word it is deleted and not replaced. So then I have to type the word all over again and it replaces it again, and we go through the whole process again.

I haven't had that problem with the keyboard, but I have noticed the abbreviations are gone. Things like BMW, NSA, etc. are all gone now. On the flip side of that if I use talk to text they come in just fine. Not sure why. However, talk to text no longer capitalizes the first word.
