I got rid of winterboard a long time ago, it was cool at first but it seems to bog my phone down a lot.

My JB is needed for only a couple things...mainly Intelliscreen because I use the iPhone for work e-mail and it makes things much easier. SBS, Five icon dock, E-mail searcher, Flashlight...little things like that are the other. Intelliscreen is the big one though, if that functionality came on the phone nativly I prob wouldn't even jailbreak.

 

Does intelliscreen bog your phone down at all? I heard it does.

 

Yea, it's a little glitchy too, but it's functionality is extremely valuable so I put up with it.

 

Seriously, is it really necessary for an app to help you find where you parked?

I may get this one....When I work in Philly I just hit the cheapest parking garage....This may help me.

I was upgrading to the 3.1.2 and chose the wrong file and it upgraded my modem.

I've unlocked and jailbroke more iphones then I can remember and in the end screwed my own up.

 

^ I have my original DFU files, not that I need to unlock it but I saved them just in case. Not sure if you can downgrade the baseband though.

 

it is possible to downgrade the baseband just not the newest verison 05.11.07 (7d11)

 

it really cracks me up with all these commercials with the attempts to diss the iPhone LOL (mostly Verizon). They really ARE just making asses out of themselves.

cuz, I had Verizon... their selections suck...

For me, I have great at&t service, and a phone that blows away anything out there, at least a phone that caters to MY needs.

 

(thankfully AT&T acknowledged their network's issues and are upgrading the problem areas (such as Chicago) soon.)

Dunno if this has already been covered, but something to be wary about when taking pix with the iphone - with location services on, it saves the GPS position in the EXIF of the picture. This has the potential to cause trouble!

 

Yup the photos are geo tagged

 

Is there a way I can disable that? It used to ask me "Camera would like you use your location" or whatever but now it doesn't show up anymore.


There are pics I took using my iPhone in the "Pics from the Driver's Seat" thread... I mean my passenger took.

 

Settings > General > Location Services

 

 

The only problem with that is that it disables it for everything not just geotagging of photos

 

I leave location off unless i'm using it specifically. It destroys my battery

You can disable it anyway. If an application wants to use location services, it will pop up a prompt, then you can allow or deny.

 

No, it pops a message telling me to turn it on in settings.

 

^Exzachary. Why would you want it on 24/7? I guess it's easier for me since I can easily swipe and tap on the button in sbsettings to activate it on the fly

 

Miz, jailbreak and use SBS, it's much eaasier than going into settings
