Got in line at the store where I had my reservation at 8:16pm and didn't get out of the store until 9:50pm. That long of a wait and there was only about 30 people in line in front of me.

The dude that took care of me in the store said he and six or seven other people worked overnight Thursday/Friday from 9pm to 5am remodeling and stocking the store for release day. He came back in at 6pm tonight and will be working until close.

One little positive was when the Godiva Chocolate shop next door closed up for the evening, the guy that was working there brought out a plate full of truffles and handed them out free to the people in line at the Apple store.

Oh, and on the way home a stone decided to give me a nice little pit in my windshield.

I'm not eligible for the upgrade, so I'm not spending 600 on the thing, especially when the bigger hard drive and faster processor are the only reasons for me to buy it.

Glad it's faster though, app loading is pretty poor in the 3G, but not unbearable IMO.

Before I unbox this thing, is the black 3G back prone to scratching? I know the front of my 2G iPhone doesn't have a single one on it but how is the backing? my old iPod is nearly unreadable at this point and I don't want to mar the pretty back.

percentage meter for the battery I've always hated just having the 4 bars on the battery indicators (of ANY electronics product)

I'm not eligible for upgrade either, I just got my HTC Tilt about 8-9 months ago, had a little accident at work (dropped a dumbbell on it while demo-ing something with a client), paid the $125 insurance deductable, and they didn't have any Tilts left, so they gave me the Fuze... I didn't really like it either... so last week, I walked into an AT&T store cuz I couldn't figure something out with the Fuze... at which point... I started whinning to the sales girl how much I hate the Fuze... and kinda half jokingly asked her if I was to complain enough, could I get another phone like the iPhone w/o paying full price... She said not really, BUT... asked me what kind of plan I'm on... so I told her that I'm with my sister and mom's family plan... She then asked me if about my sister's phone... which is VERY old... and has been waaaaaaaaaaay up for a renewal... which works out great because believe or not, my sister couldn't careless about cell phones... most of the time she doesn't even have it on... she barely uses it, doesn't text... and we have like... a kazillion rollover minutes... So, I placed an order right there and then

Every artist name I've thrown at the voice control has worked flawlessly. That includes 'odd' names like Babatunde Olatunji and Balligomingo. The contact names work fine as well but I don't really have anyone in my contact list with an odd name.

As the old phrase goes..."How do it know?"

My brother lost his blackjack on thursday, got a new Samsung Impression and smashed the screen last night, he just left to get an iPhone 3Gs...

I'm gonna try and talk 'em into switching for my 3G...

yes the chip inside the iphone 3GS can support 720p

now if apple will release an update that makes it available is another question.

dunno if the camera unit itself has anything to do with it either.

i just put a thin clear film on mine to protect from scratches, but everytime i take it out of my pocket i have a strong kung fu grip on it.

Yea dude that is always my fear. I dropped it one time on my counter, about 4 feet, onto tile floors. My heart stopped for like 2 seconds and I held it like a baby when I saw that the LCD was not cracked.

Oh and by the way, I highly suggest the Invisible Shield from ZAGG. To cover the entire iPhone would cost you 30 bucks. This thing is awesome because it is very hard to get scratched. I believe it's almost the same material as what people use for their auto clear bra. I would have gone with silicon case but it makes my iPhone so damn thick and it feels too bulgy in my pocket. Be warn though, I rate the difficulty of the Invisible Shield 8/10. It was pretty tough for me because I was hard getting it in line. You can watch some YouTube videos on the ZAGG Invisible Shield and get some ideas.

I actually don't mind bulkiness... I've been using brink phones forever, PDA's, Treo's, even the phone I was using up until today... the Fuze is pretty thick... the iPhone, tho wider... it VERY thin comparing... and I'm also paranoid that it's going to slide out of my pocket (the thicker phones have a less tendency to do so). I'm thinking about getting this...

Ahh, a bit of advice. Those hard clear cases tend to scratch the device. I also have those clear cases for my iPod thinking the case will save it from scratches. But when I took out the case to show my friend, my iPod was scratched up. And I bought the case straight from the Apple store. I've also read some reviews about people not liking their clear case because dirt was able to get in it and scratched the device.
