There's probably some obscure reason for it, like Apple doesn't want unhappy, work related images on its device. Only happy people dancing and singing.

Apple employees eat chocolate all day. Divine inception is responsible for the products.

So DarkSith,

Now that you've seen what they plan with OS 3.0 for the iPhone, what's your first impressions? You think you want to dive into the iPhone pool and wait for the update?

After reading thru the egadget info, then getting the AZ updates after lunch, it sounds really great! If the iPhone works half as well as my son's itouch, then it would be a Win-win for me....Ido have to factor in the fact that I have a total of 3 phones on Sprint rite now...

But really Sly, it sounds like they (Apple) are twisting my arm really hard!!!!

FYI, minus the phone features/characteristics, the iPhone and iPod Touch are identical. They run the same exact software.

We had 5 phones with Sprint prior to the switch to AT&T and had a decent deal including a corporate discount. Now we're paying more only because of the mandatory $30/mo data plan on the iPhone.

Me either, Im trying to make my first gen last as long as it can (and at this point I can only HOPE it makes it until the next release). To be fair though, in my life no phone has lasted as long as this one has, and I've only had one crash in almost 2 years.

I read on engadget that apple just ordered 100 million 8 gigabit nand flash chips. FYI 8 gigabits = 1 gigabyte. The number ordered is twice that of last year when they announced the iPhone 3g and updated iPod touch.

for 32gb iPhone!

Hopefully AT&T will subsidize the new one so I can get one for like $200 in nov/dec. Otherwise I guess ill have to stick with my 1st gen.

Correct for the most part, but the itouch is a little faster then the iPhone because they wanted better support for games. After having mine for a couple months I kind of wish I had gotten an iPhone...

What makes the touch faster? Does it come with a faster processor?

thought about that, but the next gen will be more expensive and i really don't need the latest technology on my phone. right now i'm just using a regular Motorola E8 rokr and it does the job. it's just b/c i'm up for renewal and after all credits, it'll only be $90 + tax for the 8GB

Just wait till the new one is released. Chances are old inventory will be cleared out as the new stuff comes in so you'll be able to getter a better deal. Good choice being with Fido, they are the best.

Get the data plan, it's worth it. Especially once the new firmware is launched you'll be able to Skype over 3g and have no need for LD.

I finally updated to version 2.2.1, but I have two problems that I didn't have before the update. I couldn't delete the photos I took with Snapture from the photo album. I had to delete them through SSH. Another problem that relates to the photos is that it won't save the images that were downloaded from safari. Please tell me this isn't what they did with 2.2.1 that is causing this?

... some of the newer games are effing fun..

i can't wait for iphone 3.0; i won't upgrade to the 3rd gen unless it has some crazy new hardware. i probably won't need it. hell i dont even need an iphone LOL. the majority of our population doesn't "need" it period.

anyways i wonder how the jailbreaking community will react to the new os. i wonder if we will still need them. only applications i found useful were categories, winterboard, sbs pref, and intelliscreen (got for freeeeeeee, google it if u want it).

That was pretty deep for an iphone thread

As far as the new firmware, I don't think it's going to include anything that will replace those jailbroken apps. Intelliscreen is a must have for me and I will will buy it again if i have to. SBS is also great.
