Well the jbed Ipads can use flash with video support coming soon. Hopefully they jb os4 and then flash quickly.

Flash is something that extremely important for a full browsing experience... If it doesnt bother you... Its only bc youve become used to the fact that you dont have it.. I probably hit 1-2 problems a day browsing the web bc of no flash...

I cant even log into my bank acount

 

that's the desktop experience. in the mobile experience there's NEVER been flash except for flash lite which sucked ass cause it was a horrible watered down version and there still isn't flash except for a beta that's available on ONE handset. The mobile browser has been without flash since it's existence and the functionality that flash provides on desktop experience can be supplemented with either a mobile friendly version of the site that doesn't require flash or they can make an app the runs on the device. Much like farmville there's an app for that you don't need flash and the app works much better than a flash variant ever would. So what's the point? For video you can use HTML5, for flash games you can make an app that does the same thing and it will run better than going through a middle man (flash). Most common use for flash is ads so you now you see less ads, good be gone with them I didn't want to see them anyways.

In the desktop browsing experience yes you need flash in the mobile, no you don't since it was never there to begin with.

does your bank not have an iPhone app? If not tell them to get with it or make a mobile friendly version of the site. Your bank sounds like a bunch of fuddy duddies. They need to step their game up!

 

On the iPhone, yea I'm fine with no flash. The iPad on the other hand....

That happened to me before where the bottom portion of the screen wasn't registering any input. The rest of the screen was fine though, just not the very bottom.

 

I meant that coming soon was the video. I was aware of the flash already being available on jb'ed iPads. Wanted to update the iPhone guys who don't check the iPad thread including myself since I have no use for it at the time. Plus it seemed to have caused a stir. I personally would like flash as it would make navigating more easier for me. Less back doors and "I'll just check on my laptop".

BTW, for any heavy YouTube users, screw the app. If you go to m.youtube.com they've updated it for html5. Thus you won't get the annoying "Can't use for iPhone" error that would pop up. I made a shortcut for it and created a bookmark folder on my home page. Didn't know we could do that.

 

your iphone is not really 100% full browsing though..
let's say you go to amazon.com on it.. it'll redirect you to their mobile site
because people still identify iphone as mobile devices

like someone already mentioned, you should have an app for your bank

and it's ridiculous you trying to replace your PC with your stupid phone

in case you really really need to do something on your pc while you are not in front of it...

for the record, flash is not a deal breaker to me at all.. i love all of the other task i can perform on the phone, but saying flash is useless or not needed is dumb... Apple could easily incorporate flash on their devices. they simply choose not to.

I care less about flash on the iPhone than I do the iPad. Without it, the iPad is useless to me.

like asking what do you need it for and what good it would bring to iphone
because i don't see any personal usage for flash that i could think of that i need on iphone
