LOL, I just got a funny phone call. Dude just bought an iPad and he was trying to run his business on it.
He went to mactopia.com and tried to install internet explorer on his iPad
Then he said he couldn't get his hotmail to work on his iPad.....
I had to have a heart-to-heart with him on how he couldn't use solely an iPad as your main business device.

well latest rumor is that apple is going to announce something towards the end of this month with a possible release in march

Apple doesn't rush to use new chips. They were pretty much last to release Core iX based machines which launched in Jan while Apple didn't add them until April. I wouldn't be surprised if they waited until Lion came out to update hardware.
I mean they're number one selling laptop has Core 2 Duo in it, their customers obviously don't care about performance, they care more about the Apple logo. So Apple has no problem selling outdated chips since people have no problem buying them.

And plenty of people, like me, will wait at the refurb store to see the deals on the previous gen stuff when the new stuff is released. I don't need a Sandy Bridge to surf the web and watch videos.

Agreed. I'm quite happy with what my 'humble' Mac Mini can do with a Core 2 Duo. It even plays games respectably.

Yep, whoever has the apps wins the game. There is a crap load of educational stuff on iPad that my kids have really latched onto. The fact that most are under $5 is pretty sweet. No way that I pay $800 for a tablet.
