Still, it is impressive I suppose...would've thought the number was alot lower.

Someone in a very nice corner office in Paolo Alto is sipping some nice wine and looking at his bonus check for the genius of his/her marketing.

Yea, but there are lot of people using them.
I see tons on the train ride into Downtown SF, and during lunch in the financial district.

What's interesting is that jobs is only paid $1 by apple.
Of course he has like stock options and what not.

Tim cook makes 900,000 a year.

Holy Shit, Flipboard! I haven't gotten into to the news reading on the iPad, until now! I don't think anyone else has either, the iPad is supposed to be saving newspapers but it doesn't seem to be doing a good job. Sales of newspaper and magazine apps are horrendous. I tried out BBC, NYT, etc. and I never liked them.

Then I tried Flipboard! I heard about it when it came out but never bothered with it but a few days ago I downloaded it on a whim and I quickly configured it and then spent about 2hrs reading the news! I NEVER do that! Apparently it won 2010 app of the year or some shit, whatever it was it deserved it! Facebook looks really cool on it! I like it better than Friendly. It makes reading facebook like reading a magazine. I can't really describe it just watch this video.

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/v2vpvEDS00o?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/v2vpvEDS00o?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>
<object width="1280" height="745"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Y5rqJt5Dq2M?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Y5rqJt5Dq2M?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="1280" height="745"></embed></object>

you can customize it, so I've added Cnet, engadget, gizmodo, facebook, my flickr account, bbc, WSJ, NYT, Fox News, CNN and others and I can read article from all those sites all at once. It's really neat!

They have to be careful about the screen res. They just sold a shit load of ipad 1s. If new apps only support ipad 2 because of higher resolution there is going to be a lot of pissed off people.

agreed on this but "1080p" is gonna be the buzzword of the 2010's for "personal" devices. And they probably know that if they don't do it, the other makers will.

oh and, "pissing people off" has never stopped them in the past. in fact, it may even be a part of their sales tactic - it makes their products MORE desirable.

I'm not sure, 1080p really isn't notice until 30" or so, not many TV makers even make 1080p TV's until over 40".

I personally will love to have 1080p in even a 10" device. Being a HD "purist" kind of junkie, it bugs me to all hell when the video needs to be downsized to match a resolution. The other utility will be having a portable device which outputs true quality 1080p video - this means you will be able to take your movies with you anywhere and plugin to any 1080p TV and watch in full-resolution glory. This is the wave of the future, for sure.

does the ipad output to HDMI? If not, it better soon, because the other makers will have it standard.

No it won't have flash and Apple has no plans of dropping google services. They know it would make an inferior product so they aren't going to go that route and I don't think Google will backout either

Interesting...so, while Google is making an Android operated tablet device, they will also continue to offer support to a competitor?

Yes, iOS is a huge market for them. MS continues to make Office for Mac, Apple makes iTunes and Safari for Windows, etc.

No it has output but thru component/composite and VGA adaptor.
Component is only 480p max.

VGA is 1024x768 resolution.

And doopster support for higher res is up to the app developer.
It'll be just like the 4 with it's retina display vs older iPhone devices.

Also there is a rumor if the iPad getting a mini display port. But I highly doubt it.

Mini HDMI would be better but I doubt that too.

And output via apple tv is wireless so it is kind of nice. But it's limited to 720p due to the apple tv onLy outputting at 720p.

I say one thumb up for wireless and one down for 720p.

But that could change with a updated apple tv.
Rumor has that if it gets this supposed A5 chip it will have 1080p.
The new A5 supposedly chews thru 1080p like butter.

wireless is not where it needs to be yet for quality consistent 1080p output. So, I don't care about that. give me a wire and true 1080p HD. In the near future though, say a few years, we will have quality 1080p wireless output.

Yea no thanks in dealing with wires.

Plus on the current iPad. You can be outputting wirelessly and still use the iPad for other stuff.
