Cool and that came with a version of iWork for mac, PC, iOS, android, windows phone at no extra cost right? And 27GB of online storage for each user? Full Online version of iWork? And it was only $69/yr for the individual plan and $99/yr for the family plan right?
offie 365 has business plans starting at $6/mo, that's a tax write off too...

Actually when you break down the number of devices and all the new tech perks you get the $100/year isn't bad.
Same thing with Adobes new model / cloud. If you regulary upgrade at X intervals the math can work out in your favor. Plus, you're always fresh.
And I see the logic Stunna. You're just attempting to show it to the wrong person.

Its a pretty good value if you want office. If I didnt get it for free, I wouldnt buy it. Ive always worked somewhere (even part time) where I got a copy of it. If I didn't, I would use something free.

Other than a few clients everyone else here at work I have running OpenOffice. Work's just fine.
I actually prefer iWorks. Very simple to use and since I've never had a need to be a "power office user" it works perfect for me.

Everything I need to do can be done with less expensive or free programs. I don't need the power user abilities of excel, etc.
When you look at the history of how long it takes MS to come out with new versions of office...I don't find a lot of value in the price. Unless you're in a home where you have 3 power users...Business' are a whole different thing.
Same with Adobe CC...It can make sense if you make use of their entire suite, and its for generating income. Otherwise...its a whole lot of money to spend a year. Example, I pretty much just use lightroom...its 75 to upgrade every year or every other year (as its not always a yearly upgrade) So, its most cost effective to just pay the upgrade for that one app when its released...than pay $10-50/month for the whole suite.
If people need it, they buy it, and they find the value in it.
Again, Im glad I do not need it. Duncecap just wants to make an argument because its me.

The only people who 'need' Office generally are people who NEED to be using Outlook or Access.

or excel from my understanding...not a big spreadsheet guy...but I believe there are some very specific features on excel you can't do in numbers...not sure about other apps though.

Or to use vb scripting extensions...
Which is the only reason we use it here.

but its like one person needs one small thing, and some one else needs another...but there you are forced to pay annually for a bundle for everything.
This "good deal" doesn't seem like such a good deal for the masses in the end.

If you are crunching spreadsheets with Excel or working with databases with Access (I don't think Access is included with the Office 365 sub), then its not a bad deal. Outlook isn't even all that great anymore compared to the free alternatives.

The new personal option allows subscribers to connect one PC or Mac desktop computer and one tablet, including the iPad, to the online service. It will cost $69 per year or $6.99 per month. Customers who require more connections can sign up for the Office 365 Home plan, which is geared towards families with support for up to five desktops and five tablets.
their wording is very ambiguous and misleading.

anyone hear any performance reviews with iOS 8 running on the 3rd generation iPad?
its almost at the age where the new iOS could be installed but may not run well, IMO.

i dunno about putting iOS 8 on the iPad 2, it uses the same processor as the iphone 4S, and ive been reading the performance isnt so great on the 4S.
This is why im curious about iOS 8 on the iPad 3, since it uses an A5X chip.

I'm not putting 8 on my iPad 2. And I'm not sure I would if I had an iPad 3. That huge resolution boost on the 3 without much boost under the hood would scare me. And is also why the 3 went away quickly.

Well I frequent many but I think it was Ars. Could have been Engadget or The Verge though.
