Got my 'Jot Script' evernote edition stylus for my iPad.
Tried it out and because it's tip is so small, it's much better than many of the styluses on the market. I never bought a stylus prior to this because I wasn't happy with how fat the tips on all other styluses are.
Unfortunately, since my iPad3 doesn't support Bluetooth 4.0, I can't take advantage of some other other features that the stylus offers.

Yea, with shipping comes to around 90. the stylus itself is $75. pricey, definitely, but it is the first fine tipped stylus. Something I'm willing to share the dough for. Luckily they had so many delays with my order, they agreed to give me free shipping. Speaking of which I need to follow-up with them about that.
Nope! I know that stylus you are talking about, and I didn't like that it had the clear disc, which is why I didn't buy that one either. This one is really just that simple, fine tipped stylus.

Oh and the tip feels like it's metal. I was worried I would have to replace the tip from time to time, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
After using it for a little bit now, it does feel a little top heavy, because the AAA battery used to power it sits on the top end. I may take the battery out since the battery is needed for BT support, but since my iPad3 doesn't have BT4.0 support, it's unnecessary.

^ that's looks like a pain in the ass stylus...Samsung Note anyone?
Are there any deals today for iPad Air? or iPad 4 32GB. I know Apple is giving away $75 giftcard today with purchase, but I'd rather save on the cost itself.

That sucks! Here is an article I found, they have a suggested fix, doesn't work for everyone though:
http://iresq.com/apple-repair-news/i...w-screen-tint/
Recent iPad designs causing yellow screen tint
The recent availability of the iPad Air and Retina iPad Mini has many clamoring to get these new devices. However, both are experiencing color issues with their displays. According to MediaPost contributor Steve Smith, the iPad Air has a display unevenness that many owners are voicing opinions about.
One complaint that many iPad Air owners have is a yellow tint to one half of the screen, while the other half is either a clean white or pink hue. This issue has been seen in other Retina Apple devices, such as the iPad 3 and older MacBook Pros.
Another issue that many have run into is a shadow effect on the left edge of the screen. While many tablets and eBooks have this display feature as it simulates the real shadow a book spine creates when reading, this shadow appears all the time on the iPad air.
As Smith stated, while a good portion of the owners of the new device may not be distracted by these display problems, others won't be able to use their iPads because of it.
"Some people call this obsessiveness, and it surely may seem that way to the many who will look at these screens and deem them perfect," wrote Smith. "But the problem seems quite obvious to a number of people in the forums – many of whom, like me, see this problem on most of the demos they check."
IPad Mini also experiencing yellow tint
Like its bigger brother, the new iPad Mini, complete with a Retina display for the first time, also has had some issues with the display. According to Product Reviews, some new users have experienced a yellow tint on their screens.
The problem comes from the screen gluing process that takes place during manufacturing. Unlike the newest iPhones, which have solved the gluing issues, the iPads are still put together the same way.
According to many iPad Mini users, the problem does not go away, calling for iPad screen replacement. Others have suggested to try setting the screen on maximum brightness for a few days, which has removed the issue for some. If the problem still lingers, Mini owners are relegated to sending their device to a repair service.
If any users have a cracked iPad because they were upset with the display issues, they should send their device to iResQ, where expert technicians can handle all types of iPad repair.

OK... have some iPad noob question and figured this thread would bring out the Apple geniuses.
I'm about to pop my Apple cherry and get an iPad. I need it for some music stuff, so have been looking iPad Retina or possibly iPad Air. I even flirted with the iPad 2 but I think the extra processing power of the Retina will come in handy. I do not think I need the Air but for the right price, who knows.
Anyway, my big thing is music. I have about 100 songs on my laptop (acquired legally either from the music owner or purchase) that I need to get onto a new iPad. I also have about 50 songs from my friends iPad that we share that I need to get onto mine. With the iPad not having any USB connectivity... how do I do this? I do not have an iTunes account.
Also, I'm looking to just buy the 16gb if I can store music on a USB or something as I do not need all of it all of the time. Ties into the question above, but just making sure
Sorry for the dumb question, but like I said, I'm a pure Apple noob. If I didn't need the iPad for the software I'd be going another route... but it is what it is. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The music part ended up being simple. I just uploaded what I needed to my laptop and synced with iTunes... so that was really a non-issue.
So far I like it. I only use it for a few select things... but those things are what I specifically purchased it for... so it's doing its job.

ok, so how much do you guys think i can reasonably sell my 3rd gen 32gb + at&t LTE ipad? its in good condition. 2 small knicks on the edge by the charger port.
i just won a 16gb ipad air, which from what ive heard i could take it to the apple store and exchange it for a higher model and pay the difference.
debating just forgetting the LTE model and keep the 3rd gen if i need it.

How often do you use the LTE on it? Also, I'm almost positive that you would be able to trade up as long as you haven't opened the box yet.
This is true.

i dont use LTE that often, but i do use it when i travel because imo there are still not alot of places with free wifi and its not very convenient if i have to go out of my way to find a place with it.
i think ill stick with LTE, but cant decide between 32 or 64gb.
#4829
Apps and movie sizes are getting bigger, I'd go 64gb. When I d/l movies from iTunes, I get the 1080p version, sometimes 5 to 6gb. And even 1/2 hour TV show are 2.5 to 3gb

Office For iPhone And Android Is Now Free

Along with a new version of Office for iPad, Microsoft made Office for iPhone and Android smartphones free today. The apps have updated in the respective app stores and can be snagged here for iPhone and here for Android.
The change log notes that the apps are free for “home use.” As Emil Protalinski pointed out earlier today, this seems to imply that “Microsoft still plans to require that businesses have an Office 365 subscription.”
You can now use Office for free, including editing, on every device except for the iPad, ironically, which requires an Office 365 subscription to unlock editing capabilities. There are free Office apps on Windows Phone, iPhone, Android and Windows RT devices, and for anyone on a regular PC, Office Offline is a decent solution.
Microsoft’s goal is to arc people towards paying for Office 365. But at the same time, use of free Office apps leads to more use of OneDrive, which is another priority for the company. The free apps help OneDrive, and the iPad maneuver likely will help juice Office 365 subscriptions.
Microsoft giving away Office on platforms it doesn’t own? The times are changing.
