Downloaded/Installed like 50 apps, setup contacts, emails, etc... Go ahead and update to new update & viola it says my iPad is in recovery mode so everything is deleted and needs to restore and update. FML
Have a restore point, but doesn't change all the missing apps.

Anyone else getting lots of crashes in safari, especially if you click on a youtube video? Reminds me of iOS 2.

Probably just iOS 7. Now chrome is crashing too, but not as bad as safari. I've had iOS crash on me also.
iOS 7 wasn't ready but they had to release it anyways, it'll get better over time. Just not sure how long that'll take.

OK... have some iPad noob question and figured this thread would bring out the Apple geniuses.
I'm about to pop my Apple cherry and get an iPad. I need it for some music stuff, so have been looking iPad Retina or possibly iPad Air. I even flirted with the iPad 2 but I think the extra processing power of the Retina will come in handy. I do not think I need the Air but for the right price, who knows.
Anyway, my big thing is music. I have about 100 songs on my laptop (acquired legally either from the music owner or purchase) that I need to get onto a new iPad. I also have about 50 songs from my friends iPad that we share that I need to get onto mine. With the iPad not having any USB connectivity... how do I do this? I do not have an iTunes account.
Also, I'm looking to just buy the 16gb if I can store music on a USB or something as I do not need all of it all of the time. Ties into the question above, but just making sure

PS on anything besides iOS you can drag and drop mp3s and be done in seconds. Apple re-encodes your mp3s so you can't 'share' or extract from your friend's device into yours without a massive headache... (unless jail-broken)

In theory, the Itunes that holds the music is the master and that syncs to the Ipad or Iphone. If you have music thats in Itunes, It will transfer to the Ipad. If there is music on your friends Ipad, you can use programs to extract it off or get it from your friends computer.
Also, look at Match. You can get all your music streamed back to you.

Thanks for the replies guys. Guess it's kind of what I was afraid of (and why I've never purchased an Apple product). I was hoping I could just put the music on a USB and upload to the iPad. Grrr... freakin Apple. Like I said, if the program I needed wasn't an iPad program, I'd go Android.

iTunes match store all your music (not music you made...) in the cloud and have access to it wherever, whenever.
I moved all my music over to iTunes match when they debuted...I haven't had real music on my computer, iPhone, or iPad since then and its great...never any issues listening to my stuff, and its always there without eating up space.
You could also use Amazon or Google's music service, which works in a similar way if you don't want to be linked to iTunes. As they have apps as well I believe.
There are options...and having an iTunes account is free..its easy...and match is like $25 a year. I think amazon and google's is around the same.
All this talk of usb sticks and the like....useless clutter
Just how I'm used to doing it. I do nothing on the cloud. Guess I'll have to change that.

Itunes Match is awesome.....You didnt hear it from me, but you can steal all your music, match it with Apple and get the best quality version.
