I just received pricing from my Verizon rep, and from basic research I think I will go with the S10 to replace my almost 3 year old S7 Edge. $399.99 for S10, $499.99 for S10+. Work pays for everything phone related, so I could get the S10+, but I'm not seeing anything that makes it better that I care about.

Wow my S7 Edge battery is pretty useless as of a year ago. Do you not use yours?
Besides that and a few screen scratches and a small crack in the corner it still works great.
Team Owner
Dumped the S7 Edge for a Moto G6 which was useless after a few months. Caught a deal on a Pixel 3 which takes excellent photos but not as customizable as the S7 Edge. I like hardcore phones like that but I didn't want to spend $700 even with a generous trade in and I hate Sammy batteries even more.

Ive been eyeing used pixel 3's.
barely used phones dropping in price each week.
i'd only do the pixel 3a if it were around $200. at $400, that's the price of the pixel 3.

^ Offer expired on May 18, but you could've gotten a Pixel 3A after trade in for a little over $200. Maybe they'll run promo again?

of course, in order to move them, deals galore!
Getting to a point where they are like cars.
Sure, there are the "Gotta have it's" but to seriously move inventory.. drop the price!

I've seen regular Pixel 3 on sale many times around $350-500. 3a just came out so give it time. However they have some glitches as well. I can't talk speakerphone with my fiancee and only her. The monthly updates are helpful though.

FWIW, I am constantly using speakerphone mode (either the built in speaker on my Pixel 3 XL or my Bluetooth JBL Flip4) all of the time and have never had an issue.

pixel 4 is already being rumored and leaked...
That means EVEN more discounts off pixel 2, pixel 3, pixel 3a
pixel 2 is STILL a very good contender
If Google REALLY wants to move them after their abysmal Pixel 3 sales...they better pull a walmart and get cheap phones to the masses

Sorry, for some reason when I call her with speakerphone on, she can't hear me. It's a known bug and what's weird is that the issue seems to only be with her. I promise you she isn't playing a joke. Maybe it's a software glitch with a favorite, IDK.

Ahhh, now I understand; thanks. Hmmm, that sounds like a bizarre bug; fortunately I haven't encountered that issue with my 3 XL.

I am enticed by the 3a. If I were in the market today, I'd probably be flipping between the 2 and the 3a, with the 3a having a slight edge just due to the cost and construction (I may be in the minority, but I'm not a fan of glass backs, and I can take or leave the metal body. And in some cases, I prefer the plastic since it's not so damn slippery).
If/when they'd drop the price on the 3a to $200, I'll scoop one up just to have.

You sure Doom? I use the call screening thing with my wife EVERY time, but I tell her I am not doing it on purpose, something weird with the phone. I am cracking up as she justifies calling me each time... Sometimes I even request more info through the screening.

Speakerphone on my 3XL doesn't work that well either. If I have it sitting on something flat (table, counter top, etc), it's like the noise cancelling cancels my voice as well. If I hold the phone, it's fine.
It's pretty annoying.

My issue is when I'm walking even. But I will see the audio output is pretty terrible via the ear buds. In a plane I can barely hear the videos at full blast.

Interesting, I use four different bluetooth devices from three different manufacturers, and the volume can easily be able to be increased to the point of pain to my ears, and still have no distortion of the sound.

Interesting; I leave my 3XL flat on a desk and use the speaker phone all of the time. Maybe the difference is due to the case (or not case) one has on the phone. I'm using the following "Spigen" case:

But I find bluetooth to work very well on the 3XL.

I love the earbuds in comfort and design as they don't fall out. Plus the assistant button is useful for voice dialing. I'm going to have to bring my gym BT headsets for the plane ride

One of many reasons why I have distanced myself from Google as a whole.
I received a Google Home as a gift a while ago. When I disabled location services and web history (figuring I didn't need Home to know the weather) the thing became a fucking paperweight. It refused to do anything - only way it would work again was to re-enable all that. No thanks.
I don't know enough about it, but it is weird how messing up the OS install the way he did caused the battery to swell. Lithium-ion fires are no joke.

Alright so who here is eligible for the Nexus 6p settlement? The claim period opened today, and in order to get the top payout, you need to submit documentation that your phone was impacted by the bootloop/battery issues. My issue is...where the hell do I find that documentation? I have only one email with a support ID, but it doesn't say anything about the issues I had with the phone (it was just the tracking info to send the old one back).

I had a Nexus 6P and I had that issue, and yet I have NO IDEA how I'm going to prove it.

Today, Google fully detailed two of the as-yet-unannounced Pixel 4's features most likely to receive top billing when it debuts in October: 3D facial recognition and radar-powered gesture controls. While only the Soli radar stuff is truly novel in the smartphone industry, Google will also be launching first Android phone with truly secure face unlock rivaling that of Apple's in the iPhone X (other Android phones have used it, but Android as an OS couldn't fully take advantage of it yet).

My battery is pretty good. I read that the latest version of Google Play Services has been killing batteries, but thankfully I don't have that issue.
Side note - there's a class action for those that purchased a first gen Pixel or Pixel xL and suffered from audio issues. Payouts range from $20 to $500:

Side note - there's a class action for those that purchased a first gen Pixel or Pixel xL and suffered from audio issues. Payouts range from $20 to $500:
If you experienced the alleged audio problems described above on your first-generation Pixel or Pixel XL, you are eligible to get more money than if you did not experience those problems. After the claims deadline, the Settlement Fund will be paid out as follows. First, money will be set aside to pay up to $20 to each person who did not experience the alleged audio defect or who cannot provide any documentation to show that they experienced it. Second, people who paid an insurance deductible to receive a replacement Pixel will be refunded the amount of the deductible. Third, people who experienced the alleged audio defect on more than one Pixel will be paid $500 each. Fourth, people who experienced the alleged audio defect on one Pixel will be paid $350 each, unless there is not enough money left to make those payments, in which case the rest of the fund will be distributed to them on a pro rata basis.
