I was in too much of a hurry so I forgot last night. Also forgot you were on Verizon... bothers me either way, that my Note 4 still doesn't have the 5.1 OTA yet.

Honestly, i will probably update, but I want to let other people use it on the OG motox for a week or so to see what the reaction is. I am not finding a lot of comments on the articles about it, though, so maybe everyone is waiting for everyone else to try it out...

well, user reviews seem OK, so maybe I will take the plunge this weekend.

OK, update done. Seems to be fine.

just picked up a note5 from a note2, does anybody know how to edit the behavior of the bottom left button? on my note2, a single tap would list additional functionality within an app, in the note5 it pulls up all concurrent/recently run apps

The menu button was changed for the Note 4. I miss it too.

Thanks for pointing out it's called the menu button, allowed me to find this:
Note 5 menu button - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
the suggestion of holding down the return button works for my app (touchdown pro) and brings up the menu

One thing I forgot about the 5 update is the change in the Gmail widget. I have two accounts and have a widget for each of them both on a single page, but the new widget does not show the account name in the big red banner at the top of the widget, only "inbox"... Annoying in that it's hard to determine which account each widget is for.

Stupid Note 4 battery. Was at 2X% and then all of a sudden my phone turned off. 0% Ordering a new battery in the morning. After testing the new battery then I can determine if hardware or software issue. I wish I could punch Touchwiz.

Another issue with the MotoX to lollipop update...
When I end a call, say I am leaving a message for someone, I press the red button to end the call. BUT THE PHONE DOES NOT HANG UP...
I can still hear the audio, the call, etc... but there is no active call indicated so I can't hang up again. Have to hard reset the phone. Does not happen all the time, but sometimes.

At least you're not waiting in line with the zombies.
Heh. I'm kind of anti apple. At least, I don't get the whole messiah image that Steve Jobs was portrayed as.
I always try to stay impartial. I would line up for hours to have a special beer (Pliny the younger) but not for a phone.

Anyways out of all the iPhone's I've owned (Original, 3GS, 4, 5 & 6 Plus) I've never camped out for them, always just sit at home in my underwear and order one online.
Only thing I've camped for was at Walmart near 29 Palms, CA for a launch day 60GB PS3.

I get why to idolize Steve Jobs because he was fucking brilliant but it's no different than those who idolize their favorite athlete, musician, actor, etc. There are always people who take stuff to sheep level like those hippies that followed around the lead stoner who was oh so cultured.

I've had every Iphone except the 5. That when I went back to Android. I like variety.

He's definitely overvalued by the Apple community, but as people who follow a company like Acura, Apple is if Acura did the opposite of everything they're doing right now. Jobs was a marketing and usability genius who had a few major windfall guesses as to where the market would go.

hmmm...kind of interested in the Google Nexus 5X. I've been an iPhone user since the end of 2011 and have no complaints, butt...
#1. With the new non-contract plans a 64 gig iPhone 6s (+ Applecare) is nearly $900. A 32 gig Nexus 5X with their care plan is "only" $500.
#2. There's nothing that I use on the phone that is Apple exclusive. As long as I can transfer my music over.
Any other Android phones I should look into?

If I were in the market I'd definitely consider the Moto X Pure starting at $400 with a microSD slot included. That's my leader in the clubhouse. If you don't mind the size as it's 5.7". Last year's Nexus 5 32GB is down to like $350 I believe but not sure if that or the Moto offer the Google warranty package. Honestly I pay $7/mo with ATT's and and it covers not only damage but theft/lost as well.
You mentioned transferring your music. I assume these are songs you bought off iTunes?

Yeah if looking at the 5x I agree the Moto X Pure is a great option to consider as the hardware between the two is not much different and it is at a better price point.
I did however preorder a 6P to replace my N6.

Other runner up: LG G4 as I've seen them sold by an Ebay store for $450 I believe. And maybe even last year's LG G3 in the $350 range if you don't mind a year old phone. I just think as great as Samsung is, their Touchwiz version of Android really zaps the phone battery and this year's models are too pricey to gamble. Pure Android with Nexus, Moto, and somewhat LG will help the battery and software glitches.

OG MotoX lollipop update struggles continue...
I used to have the Moto app recognize when the phone was paired with a "friendly" bluetooth or NFC device and remain unlocked. It worked 99% of the time in 4.4. In 5.1, it works about 10% of the time. I have repaired, re-set up and still it barely works.
Also, the dial and call end buttons in the phone are TINY and VERY close to the "0" button making me nervous when dialing that I am going to press "call" instead of 0, and also making it very tough to click the hang up red button. It used to be a banner the width of the screen, but apparently that was too convenient...
vs 4.4

^ Take that damn survey!
Also, I preordered a 5X but now I'm second guessing not going with the 6P.
The specs of the 6P are just so much better overall and the stereo speakers are a huge benefit too. Only thing I don't like is the headphone jack on the top and the size. I'm not even sure I couldn't deal with the size though, I thought the GS4 was massive coming from an iPhone and I adapted just fine to that.
Help me decide!

^I'd prefer to support the new Moto vs the Nexus line because I want the market to favor SD card slots. There I've helped

i was dead set on 5X, until they both came out yesterday....
for a tiny bit more, you can grab the 6P with a WHOLE bunch of better features.

I know but it's also a whole lot bigger too...same size as iPhone 6S Plus.
I don't like that the 6P has the 810. Supposedly the only manufacturer with an 810 in their phone that doesn't have overheating issues is the Xperia Z5 line. But maybe something changed?
The camera hump is ugly, but a case would help anyway.
Knock on wood but I have been using a 6S+ without a case (very, very carefully) and while slippery, it's fine

snapdragon 810 version 2.x is used in the 6P.
looks to be an updated version of the 810 found in the over heating Z5

bigger better phone than the 5X and better than the original Nexus 6.
if you want to stick to the 5 inch form factor, pick up the 5X...
pretty simple....

Sorry with limited data plans and data outage in certain areas (my gym) I want music and pics on demand. And apps are getting bigger and bigger. My 32 GB Note 4 really only has 24GB after Touchwiz. More than half of what is leftover is eaten by app data. I'd prefer my pics in an SD card readily available. Cloud would be great if I had unlimited data. I already average over 10GB/month.
