Out of curiousity, you've been a pretty heavy Android user. Why would you go to iOS unless you're planning on jb'ing while Android is easier to go more indepth into?
....because I find iOS much more fluid than Android. I love my Note 4 but the amount of hiccups this phone has is apparent on daily basis. The random slow downs, the random hesitation. But I do so much more than I could or ever did on iOS. When is Lollipop finally coming out for Samsung devices? I hope this will fix my negative experience.

So to answer that we would need to a) have both devices and b) study the differences between the two. Nobody is doing that.
Everyone I know, including myself chose the plus because of size and battery anyway.

So, lots of bugs being reported with Lollipop on Nexus devices... Way to go Google, breaking your own product line.

- Accessing Contacts in Call is even more confusing.
- Camera breaks when it wants to.
- Have to pull down the notification bar twice to access quick toggle widgets as opposed to a single pull down as before
- Built in Gallery now requires Google Services. Had to install a 3rd party app to manage my gallery now.
- Phone does not feel snappy or fast anymore. The changes adds more lag/pauses/bogginess.
- My phone's max brightness has noticeably been reduced
On a brighter note, my wife ordered for both of us a OnePlus One

Whats up with RDX owners?

I've been getting the update notifications on my Nexus 4 since last Wednesday, but haven't updated yet. My friend updated his N4, and he did have issues with the camera. The double pull down notification bar is a bit cumbersome too. It looks pretty, but its an extra, unneeded step.
In other news, I signed up for the deal Moto is running today. I haven't received the code yet, but they're saying I should have it by 1am EST. I just can't seem to decide on a color combo. I've narrowed it down to:
-White/ebony/silver trim
-White/bamboo/silver trim
-Black/ebony/dark gray trim

^The Nexus 4 gets jacked up too according to all the articles I'm reading

Speed up your Android by adjusting animation settings - CNET
People with the N4 said that has basically removed all lag.

Does anybody have a Nexus 6? I am trying to decide what to upgrade to next. According to Tmobile, it is a 6-8 week wait before it will ship. Wondering if it will be worth the wait....I can get a G3 right away.
I have a note 3 now.

he's been a loyal samsung fan for awhile and has gone through each iteration of galaxies.
I left wed afternoon to him following the tracking progress.
I came to work this morning and he showed it off a bit.
the first thing he said was; It's not metal. I might return it because its not metal.
as I said, loyal samsung fan.
with that being said, if i had the choice right now, it would be the G3.
The nexus 6 is okay(no seat time just going by paper specs) but will be missing LOTS of cool features the other manufactures implement in their phones.

I've been debating getting a G3, it's basically just a more polished version on my N5. I saw the N6, that thing is a fucking brick, no way in hell I could carry that thing around

he wants that premium heavy solid feel.
he also uses Samsung's milk service and is missing out Milk.
those two complaints are deal breakers for him.
for me; I wouldnt be so picky, but i can understand if you're spending the full price of the phone and want features that make you happy.

Da fuck is Samsung Milk?

^I think it's their music service. On my note 4 the lag I get is sometimes it gets stuck previewing an HDR pic that I shot. The left button to app switch takes like a second to open. Everything else flies.

I'm running this:
[ROM] FireKatN4 Deodex V5 TW 4.4.4 Base: Ext… | T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 4 | XDA Forums
and it's quite nice.
I don't go for the heavy custom roms, but I do like these 'stripped down and tuned touchwiz' roms.

I'm still waiting for lollipop on my N7... taking forever.
Have you considered a custom rom?

I'll disable S voice and stuff and I shall see if it makes a difference, if it does not, I'll check out your custom rom.

If you don't really use the S Pen on the Note then I don't think you will be missing anything with the N6 then other than maybe multiwindow which based on software tidbits people have seen from google in the past there is hope that Lollipop might get it. At least I am hoping.
I am been impressed with the camera so far coming from an S4 and an M8 as my last two phones but it is definitely not at the top of the spectrum.
Battery life has been great. I have gotten 15-16 hours of battery with 4-5 hours of screen time repeatedly over the holiday. When I only go 2-3 hours screen time it will easily make it 24hrs if needed.
If you use your phone speakers a lot then the you will love the front facing speakers. They have a little less bass than M8 did but they are a good bit louder.
The wait would be the only issue. It took me two weeks to get an order placed and then waiting till the 21st to get the device. If I had to wait another 6-8 weeks to get it I would probably end up with a different phone or just holding out to see was is released at CES and MWC.
I thought the size would be an issue but so far it hasn't really been. I just have to take it out of my pocket if I am going to be sitting down for a while.

^ Thanks for the info. The size shouldn't bother me unless it's super heavy (looks to be only a few grams more than the note 3). The note 3 is not small, but it doesn't feel heavy in my pocket.
I checked TMO again and the 6-8 weeks is for the 64GB version only. The 32GB is 7 day backorder. 32GB should be plenty of space....I'm not even using half of my Note 3 internal storage. Though I do like having the expandable memory option.

I had originally wanted the 64gb Cloud White one but they were impossible to get from Google Play so I finally gave in an got a 32gb. I filled up my 32gb M8 but only cause I had several large videos on it. If I take those off I still have like 8gb free. I agree that expandable is nice to have.
I don't keep phones long enough though typically to fill them up in the end.

I agree. Not only am I experiencing bugs, but I feel like the user experience is downgraded along with the snappy feel of the OS. Issues I have with are:

- Camera breaks when it wants to.
- Have to pull down the notification bar twice to access quick toggle widgets as opposed to a single pull down as before
- Built in Gallery now requires Google Services. Had to install a 3rd party app to manage my gallery now.

Anyone on 5.0 notice their third-party launchers always crashing?

I use Apex and it's happened a few times. Not 'all the time' but enough that I noticed. Seems to have stabilized though...

Finally fixed my SMS issue
I'm having a hard time syncing over all my SMS, calls, pictures, etc. from my 2013 Moto X to my Note 4. I tried using the Samsung Smart Switch app but it's not compatible with my X.
Motorola Migrate was nice... it grabbed everything from my GNex and transferred it all right over. Just had to sync my Google account after that.

Been looking at getting a new phone, my Note 2 is getting old on me.
Seems like the Moto X or the nexus 6 is what I want, but the 6 is expensive and hard to get. The X gets great reviews, but I don't want to go to a smaller phone. I do like that those are both stock android.
So, I'm looking at other contenders. One from left field....Any opinions on the OnePlus One?

I talked my brother into getting a nexus 6, now he needs to transfer all his contacts, SMS, apps, etc from his Galaxy 2 to that. How does he do that?

His SMS he will need to find an app that allows you to backup and then restore your SMS. Make a backup on his Note2 and then install the app on his Nexus6 and then do a restore. There are a bunch of free apps in the playstore to do this.

His contacts as long as they are stored on his gmail account should transfer just fine as should his installed apps.

I love my note 2 and I think both the Note 3 and 4 look great. Just want to get a more pure Android experience and have something that updates more than once in its lifetime.

Call me naive, and I'm not picking on you CGE, what's the big deal with more pure Android? If TouchWiz or Sense has minimal impact on my phone performance wise, then other than bloatware which can be partially uninstalled, what's the big deal?
