go to settings and click on wifi....

once on the wifi page, it will show you the wifi connections it sees in range....click on the menu (3 dots on the bottom right corner)....hit advanced....you will see the setting there....

PS: I am running 10.1.2 (4.2.2 equivalent) on my Galaxy Note....and I see the setting...

Sh*t... Amber's right.. I didn't even know that this existed in the menus.

Just checked on my G-Pro (need to access further advanced menus with soft menu key in wifi setup) and I have additional options of:

1. "Avoid Poor Connections" - Wifi disconnects automatically when Wifi Signal is low and 4g/3g data connection will be started.

and

2. "Check Internet Availability" - Don't use wifi network unless it has a good internet connection.

Good to know. Thanks Amber.

I rarely use the Google+ phone app, but I did today and found out that the new UI is pretty awesome. Swipe right for menu and swipe left for notifications, and pull down to refresh.

Though it does get annoying that every time you fire up the app it asks whether you want to auto backup your camera if you didn't already.

So I ran into a problem with the bluetooth on my cm10.1.2 on i717 (original Note)....

it just turns off when it feels like it and wont turn back on, even though you had it on and you need to reboot to get it to turn back on and the cycle repeats

kinda annoying....

I have the stable version, I might be flashing the latest nightly to see if it gets rid of the issue....

You're both correct. TouchWiz and other skins removed the WiFi priority option but is/was available in AOSP builds since ICS. Not sure why they'd remove such a useful feature but that's just how it goes I guess.

As for your problem, WiFi priority won't help you much in this. What it sounds like is a radio/modem issue with the handoff from WiFi to 4G/LTE (vice versa) not happening correctly. This is mostly due to spotty 4G/LTE coverage where even though the signal are saying you have full 4G/LTE coverage, you really don't have it until a few blocks away. On the other hand, you say that your iPhone did it properly so it sounds more like an updated radio/modem is needed to correct the issue without resorting to manually turning off WiFi, using an NFC tag, or using an app to automate the process for you when you get away from a router via Tasker or Llama.

One test to see if it really is due to 4G/LTE is try forcing your phone to connect to 3G only by disabling 4G/LTE and see if the hand off issue still persists. If it does, then only a radio/modem update will fix it. In the meantime, take a look at Llama or Tasker (if you have root).

Discovered Any.do task app. Just started using it, but I think this may be the task app I stick too. They also have a calendar coming to android and that might be better than google's calendar assuming it syncs with that as well.

edit: Also new youtube app update is pretty awesome!

I'm waiting for the rollout but the vids I've seen look really nice. Especially the multiwindow part. Can't wait for Key Lime Pie! I hope they keep bringing these redesigns.

Also check out Timely if you guys haven't seen it. Looks really good too and it syncs your alarms across devices!

Ive charged teh battery on my S3 enough that it just wasnt holding charge like it should. I like the ability to (easily) replace the battery should it need to be.

Ok this is badass. Live traffic updates to Google Maps via Waze

http://google-latlong.blogspot.ca/20...-and-waze.html

No one likes getting stuck in traffic. That’s why the Waze and Google Maps teams are working together to harness the power of Google technology and the passion of the Waze community to make it easier to navigate your daily life.

Users of Google Maps for Mobile will now benefit from real time incident reports from Waze users. This means when Wazers report accidents, construction, road closures and more on Waze, the updates will also appear on the Google Maps app for Android and iOS in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Switzerland, UK and the US.

The Waze community will also benefit from two new features. First, the Android and iOS versions of the app have been updated with Google Search. Wazers will now have access to even more search results when navigating. Google Search joins other search providers making it easy to find favorite businesses and any local address.

In addition, after a successful beta test, the Waze Map Editor now includes Google Street View and satellite imagery to build out the map and make it easier to correct map errors reported by the community. For more information, visit the Waze blog.

If they're hung up on points, they need to stay with Waze was per the blog posting linked in that Google article.

So...uh, I'm late to the party.

I've been an iPhone user for 4ish years and it finally bit the dust. Went to AT&T with intention of getting a new iPhone and made the mistake of playing with the S4.

I've had it for 2-3 weeks now and am so impressed. Its so customizable. The android system is fantastic.

Yeah. In landscape mode, the slider at the bottom disappears. Seems to be a problem, as I saw a similar complaints in Youtube's Google Play comments section.

HTC One Sense 4.3 just leaked:

Flashing away. Should bring a little more butter than 4.2.

4.3 seems relatively smoother than 4.2 already. The font also looks a little better even though I've flashed the 4.3 font on my 4.2 builds so HTC may have changed it slightly. They also finally got rid of the data indicator while connected to WiFi! That bugged me so much.

Nexus 4 dropped $100 in price:

https://play.google.com/store/device...id=nexus_4_8gb

8 GB is now $199 and the 16 GB is now $249. The price is so tempting. Must remind myself that I don't need it...

Yes and I love my HTC One but I keep it on Sense simply because Sense is just awesome on the One. $200 is such a good price even just to pick up an 8 GB to tinker with. The Nexus 4 is a pretty smooth device as it is and it would be a steal at that price and have something to mess with stock Android with.

So tempting just to get one to try out T-Mobile w/LTE, but then I realize I can just grab a nano-sim card from them for free

This deal applies to Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Korea and the UK too. The Nexus 4 might just be the best deal for a phone for anybody right now. Go buy one for your grandparents, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, unborn children, or future Christmas gifts. Insane how they can sell it for the same price as 2 year contract locked phones!

Inadvertently killed Moto X's momentum.

why is this happening? Help a noob out.
New phone coming? Likely these will disappear quick?

My Nexus 7 shows up tomorrow. Plan was to play with it and decide on direction for next phone. Have these 4's had any resale value after the initial shortage last year?
