The sizzle in the Steak
More proof the Doughty is gonna bring the goldz to teh Canadia
Canada's defence stood tall in their 8-0 win over Norway on the opening night of men's hockey at the Winter Olympics.
While veteran blueliner Dan Boyle led all Canadian blueliners in minutes played, Shea Weber was right behind him with over 19 minutes of ice time.
He was absolutely a Tower of Power on defence. At the end of the day, there were some players who did some spectacular things on offence and defence. But Shea Weber was used in every situation and he was absolutely terrific.
Weber played an understated game, but he was counted on in all sorts of situations.
Now I thought Team Canada's coaching staff did a marvelous job breaking down the ice time all over the map for these guys. And Drew Doughty was another player who used his minutes well.
This is no surprise to me and it's no surprise to fans of the Los Angeles Kings. But for a 20-year-old like Drew Doughty to step into a situation like this and be right in the middle of the pack in terms of ice time?
We may be looking at - right now - a Norris Trophy winner in the National Hockey League. But for now, he's going to be a critical factor in any success that Canada has going forward.
Where goaltending is concerned, everything is tentative to this point.Roberto Luongo got the start against Norway on Tuesday and we know that Martin Brodeur will get the nod on Thursday against Switzerland. If Brodeur does what's expected of him in that game - play well in a victory for Canada - I believe that he'll be the guy in goal against the Americans.
But you have to let Thursday's game unfold first and let it come to you.

well it depends on your cable provider.
i dont think i have a comcast video subscription, so i guess i wont be using NBC.
for the beijing games, i was just able to goto the website watch live matches and replays w/o having to deal with any crap.

all work and no play
Shaun was definitely on his game last night....nobody really had a chance for anything more than silver.
I didnt see the score for the victory lap until now, but Im not surprised by it. He was so pumped before it that I figured he was going to fall during the run
and
at the coach telling him to "stomp that shit"

That what Shaun said last night, he said that when the 900 came out it was pow, then he talked about how they do three of them in one run nowadays.
