'Twas a nutty week.
That being said, I can't wait for DJ Gallo's observations.

But, I wonder if the bandwagon-of-the-week is Brees or Rivers?

^^^well, I've always liked'em both... cause Brees' an "ex" Charger, and River's current, I wasn't bitter when Brees left... but when I found out that Bush got drafted to the Saints... they kinda became my NFC team (after the Seahawks... except now, they're NOT lookin' too good, Hassleback's NOT healthy, and Alexander is... just 'meh')

Oh, yeah. Beat the Jets, Packers, and Rams, finish 9-7, get the #6 seed, upset #3 seed Seahawks, go into Soldier Field and extend Bears playoff futility. And we know the Saints can't beat the Vikings in the Superdome (lost last 3, including 2 playoff games). Super Bowl XLI

The game is tied in the 3rd quarter and then Rex throws yet another interception. Lovie benches Rex, warms up both Griese and Orton. Then he puts in Griese and he throws the winning touchdown.

just saw a a streak of white topped with navy blue just fly past me. hmm...
11-2, NFC N Champs, 1 more win = H.F. for the playoffs, Rex looked awesome, the running game was superb!
way to shut the critics up! jeez im so sick and tired of "Romo" this and "Bears should put Griese in" that. No doubt that Rex proved his point. Also, i was a fan of putting in Brian IF Rex played poorly FYI.

And just to finish up my views of the game before I head of to study :
- Grossman's success came from his POCKET PRESENCE, which clearly was a result of great blocking up front and his ability to read the defense. I know it's "just the Rams", but that was quite impressive.
- There are 2 elements to your Offense; the Run and the Pass. When either is hot, the other become that much deadlier since you have the defense worried about getting hit hard for a gain. With C Benson and T.J. doing their thing tonight, it helped our WRs get open MUCH easier. Coupled with excellent passes from an improved QB, you can't defend against a 2x threat.
- Devin Hester
- Can't put up yards against a stout, hard hitting, "mind-playing" defense like the Bears have. If you get in a hole, you're screwed for the most part. The team only gets better on defense as the game progresses.
- Devin Hester
Some negatives included: the secondary with Vasher AND Brown out and obviously Robbie isn't QUITE as good as Gould anymore. Hopefully he can shake off those missed attempts.

Ditto. I'm almost certain our paths will cross again. Next time, it'll be a different outcome.

But, that also makes the media-hype machine a bit unbearable.
When Romo was on a roll, he was the next coming of Elway-Aikman-Simms-Kelly-Young-Montana-Bradshaw-Fouts-Manning...it was so retarded. And prior to that, it was Rivers, and prior to that, it was probably Grossman.

I'm still about how everyone including their second cousin was calling for Grossman's head the last 2 weeks.

I felt that if he blew the 1st half that Griese should've come in, like many others. As Rick Morressy stated in an article in the Trib Monday before the game, Rex is still in his first full year as a QB and we forget that. He's gone through many injuries in his short career, and he has another one. This one is MENTAL. If he sucked, which he definately did not, it would've been ok to put Brian Griese in and let Grossman watch a good veteran work his stuff.
Fortunately, Rex "healed" during this game. You could CLEARLY see his confidence was not there, but as soon as he got some passes in, the big time plays started coming. I'm very impressed with him.
Now, if we go 1-2 for the rest of the season, NFC H.F.A. is OURS

And on another note, as great as LT is and his record-setting TD mark...he's no second coming of Sweetness or Jim Brown.
...and not even by 10 miles.
If Sweetness (and I'm not saying this blindly just because he's a Bear) had that kind of line and supporting cast, he'd have records up the stratosphere. X 2

So...if I ever was fuming about Da Bears' draft selections earlier this year...I um, wholeheartedly take it back.
Trading down to nab Hester and Danieal Manning...genius. And oh yeah, Mark Anderson in the 5th round?

So Yamchuh.... what's up with Marc Colombo. Last I heard he hadn't given up a sack all year.
Would you agree that it's the Bear's coaching staff's fault that he was a bust in Chicago??

It really must hurt waking up knowing your team loses a player to the law everyday, AND that you're stuck in KY

See, for the crap Dallas has to put up with in TO, they get non-crap in Columbo. It's just how the fortune cookie breaks.

Uhh, Columbo blew the protection on the blocked FG in Washington. He hass screwed up some other stuff too. Believe me, he has his fair share of crap. You don't hear it cause TO takes over the national scene.
