Or imagine what his totals might have been without steroids. Or being on a team that wasn't ahead 80% of the time. Jason Taylor is the best defensive guy this year.

you say that as if he's the only one in the NFL... there's sooooo much drugs in the NFL, you don't have a clue... it's all a matter of how NOT to get caught. Some (actually most) of that aggression on the line isn't just from the love of the game...

Ok, same difference. However, you can't give Merriman a pass because "everyone is doing it". This discredits every athlete that goes about his business in an honorable way, and there are plenty of these guys.

Yea, the "roids" really helped him ...8.5 sacks in the last 5 games...

Taylor is a horses ass and he had an AVERAGE year at best. He gets two picks for TD's and that makes him the MVP?? lol...

What's sad is that he is probably the best of the last 3 coaches the Vikings have had.

Jacksonville fires OC Smith 7 4 others...

http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-onlin...ag_staff.shtml

The Jaguars' disappointing 8-8 record and three-game losing streak to finish the season had instant rammimfications on the coaching staff Tuesday as four assistants -- offensive coordinator Carl Smith, receivers coach Steve Walters, quarterbacks coach Ken Anderson and special-teams coach Pete Rodriguez -- were fired and the contract of assistant special-teams coach Mark Michaels was not renewed.
"I appreciate the effort each of these men gave during their time here," head coach Jack Del Rio said in a team-released statement. "These decisions are always very difficult, but any decision that is made is done solely from the desire to win football games. I wish each of these coaches nothing but the best as they move on."

Del Rio's decision to release five coaches from his staff continues a consistent trend since he was hired to replace Tom Coughlin in 2003.

Del Rio has now fired or demoted 13 assistant coaches since the end of his first season in Jacksonville.

The firing of Smith and Rodriguez means the Jaguars will have their third offensive coordinator and special-teams coach in five seasons in 2007. The Jaguars will announce all the replacements at a later date, but among the candidates to replace Smith from within the staff could be Mike Tice, the assistant head coach on offense, and running backs coach Kennedy Pola.

In his season-ending news conference, Del Rio repeatedly cited the shortcomings in the passing game and with special teams as major reasons for the Jaguars' underachieving season.

Anybody else think this is the Chefs last year to do anything? Trent Green gets a concussion putting his helmet on, and Eddie Kennison is on, what, his 3rd hip?

I just can't see them doing anything in the near future with that many old guys.

I wasn't offended, I just think it's funny that people will point fingers at the ones that got caught as if they'll they only ones doing it... like they're sooooo surprise by the fact...

take any team... (ANY TEAM, yes... even college) I assure you most of those guys especially the ones on the line are on something... or were on something at one time or another... trust me on this, from someone who has spent over 2/3 of his life in the gym...

Jesus... what a dumb ass team. I feel bad for the fans... I really do. They should boycott attending the games until he is fired.

Not to mention... the head coach just hired his son-in-law as the DC.

Pretty lame if you ask me. The guy didnt even give himself a chance and is taking the easy way out. Pro ball isnt just for any coach I guess. In fact, I can't think of any coach in recent memory that made a sucessful (meaning playoffs/SB win) transition from college to pro...

As far as our coaching, I was really hoping we'd get rid of Mularkey but I guess he's gone either way. Let the rumors fly.

The Scowl is done with Steelers...

Well, most likely and on the 99%-yes side. Then again, he could pull a Saban and come back?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2720242

Great coach and definitely a loss to the Steelers if he does retire.
