Kind of funny; lots of fans feel the same way about other teams, certain fan bases can be really annoying (thinking Steelers, Bills, Raiders, and Seahawks here).

I remember seeing/reading that raiders, eagles fan base can be pretty bad.

But of course fans will hate on each other. But if you gather 70,000 people in one spot with highly emotional game involved (plus beer....)....it definitely can have assholes on any given sunday...

Philly fans are the worst, almost as bad as Patriots fans...

Never met an Eagles fan out here.

I think Niner and Pat fans are the worst..

I live too close to Philly now. It would be exciting to see the Eagles go (I have friends that like them obviously) but nah.

Only when either fan base encounters a Steelers fan.

Niners fans are terrible. There was one fan who fought another Niner fan in a bathroom line because somebody tapped him on the shoulder to tell him that a stall was open. Kinda funny at first, but the guy who got attacked hit his head on the ground and suffered brain damage.

Philly fans are awful because I've never seen anybody throw snowballs with batteries in them at other fans. On youtube, anyway

NFC West division hatred seems the weakest. Hard to really develop rivalries when most of the division was subject to mediocrity and ineptitude for so long. Distance between each city plays a part too. I even rooted for the Seahawks and Cardinals in their '00s SBs because fuck the Steelers

From my perspective it was only within the past 7-8 seasons that I had any reason to really hate the Seahawks. Any games before that were non-competitive, nevermind ever seeing each other in the playoffs. Plus the Seahawks were in the AFC in the past.

I'm too young for the rivalry with the original LA Rams. Plus St. Louis was too far, I've rarely met any Rams fans. But people from the Bay Area hate LA, and vice versa. Next few seasons should be good.

Arizona, meh. Again, geography.

I agree about the NFC West. There were years that I was pretty raw about SF (Kaep era) but once they fell on hard times no point in sustaining that. And those roots don't go deep either, not like some of the rivalries in the East (Pitt, Phi, NE, etc.). As an overall fan of the game, I'm interested to see how SF comes to life in the coming years. I'll always want Sea to beat them of course, but more from my desire to see my team win than see SF loose. I don't care if SF was 14-2 so long as Sea was 16-0. Our biggest rivalry right now is in soccer with Portland.

And LA and Arizona - they are just teams we play twice instead of once.

I get it why people may dislike our team and our fans, but there are lots of annoying fan bases. I don't think ours is too bad - or maybe any better or worse than others.

Enough Keenum/Foles comparison on TV. Foles would not have gotten the Eagles to NFC game if all yr at QB.

I feel I can keep a level head about things. The 2013 NFCCG was one of the best games I've ever seen. Even after Wilson's rookie season I said I'd rather have him than Kaepernick, turns out I was right. But hey, seems like it's going to work out in the end.

I actually hate the Raiders and Cowboys more because their fans are the most prevalent around here. The last couple of games playing Dallas at Levi's it seemed like half the stadium wore blue.

I think you and I will grow to hate the Rams in due time they already hate the Niners, last season the Rams put the 2 in our 2-14.

Not many opposing fans here in NE. Mostly because no one wants to go Foxboro(its boring and in the middle of no where) Ticket prices are also the highest in the league so Im sure that adds to it as well.

Since Ray Lewis and Peyton retired the Pats haven't really had a rival either, kinda sucks because we always marked those games on the calendar. No offense to my good friend in Pittsburg but the Steelers are 0-5 against the Pats in the last 5 games and 2-10 against Brady all time, with zero playoff wins. Not much of a rivalry

I will give the Steelers fans credit though. They definitely seem to be the most well traveled fan base. You see them everywhere, especially when the Steelers are on national tv

I think the Fins are the team with the most wins against the Pats in the last decade or so which doesn't say much

They must travel to watch other games because I swear every time they are at home, the stadium seems half empty!

Living in Norcal (Sacramento)

We have more niner fans. Raider fans are starting to move away from football, because of the move.

I know some die hard fans who are just pissed about the move...

You sir are correct with 10 wins against Tommy. Im assuming this is just regular season because the Ravens beat us twice in the playoffs

I have only met a few Pats fans in all my years. Of the two I actually talked to, the guy was from Massachusetts and the chick wants to have Brady's children.

The most obnoxious Cavaliers fan I know conveniently doesn't root for the Browns. Instead, he's a Steelers fan. I would bet my life savings that dude can't find Pittsburgh on a map.

There's no reason why you can't root for a team that you have no geographical ties to, but I certainly respect someone more when they don't go for the typical bandwagon choices.

New England is like that with College football/basketball teams, solely because there aren't any big schools up here

Def not playoffs cuz Dolphins don't play in them. Looks like Seahawks and Panthers only team with a winning record on Tommy. Small sample size of course

My teams are all over the place.

Baseball: Yankees, but if I had to choose a 2nd it would be the A's. (I hate the Giants because of their fan base)

Basketball: Lakers no second team ( I hate the Kings again, because of their fan base)

Football: I was a Charger fan until the up and moved the team, so now I don't have a football team.

I started out as a bandwogoner with the Broncos, but I was 10, and that was 20 years ago. The wagon has lost its axels a couple times, but I’m still on board.

Living in Texas I didn’t have much choice since my Dad isn’t a Cowboys fan and Houston didn’t have a team at the time. I would have gladly taken up the Saints if they would have stayed in San Antonio after Katrina. Funny thing about me choosing the Broncos though is that I like the Raiders and Chiefs probably 2nd and 3rd, and I really enjoyed watching LT and Gates tear it up in San Diego. I had no idea they were rivals growing up.

For me I'm a fan of my team first, but after that, I'm really just a fan of good football. I tend to root for the underdog and "comeback" or "redemption" stories. But my "rooting" doesn't mean much to anyone because I don't spend money.

Living in Nebraska for a while I adopted the Cornhuskers. I've never lived in a state that was so single-minded about one team. On Saturday the game was piped into every store, on every TV, etc. No matter where you worked, if it was Sat you could wear fan gear.

College sports are way more passionate. I went to a Georgia game and was blown away by the environment of it all.

We drove the two hours from Atlanta and everyone on the highway had their car covered in stickers or bulldog flags hanging off the side. The stadium is right on campus and there were three generations of family members everywhere all wearing red. I've never seen anything like it before my life

I've always rooted for the Niners, it runs in my family. And they're local. Can't say I really cheered for them until 2001, that's when I started playing Madden and actually knew players and how plays worked.

Lakers and Yankees? their fans are the worst! So many Kobe jerseys disappeared, lot of the same people are wearing Curry jerseys now.

LT was my favorite RB. Always satisfying how he constantly wrecked the Raiders. Raiders fans talk the most smack, even when they were terrible.

I need to go to a college game. They do look fun, seems like it's more offense and a more hardcore fanbase.

Oh man I want off-season to start already. Go underdog and all, but I don't really have my team in the fight.

College games are crazy I've heard. It's more entertaining to watch as these guys are actually trying to play for something. While NFL is all about the money.

Laker fans are pretty bad... Especially when the Lakers where a finals team. I still wear my Kobe jersey, I also have another one that I want to put in a memory box, in addition to my Junior Seau jersey.

I just think Laker and Yankee fans are entitled too talk smack. Not right now, but in the past.

Big program college football is a different, awesome beast. Average attendance is in the upper 90k versus 60k’s for NFL. When you get a school that also knows how to cheer, like TAMU, it makes it even better.

Admittedly, I have never been to an NFL game.

I think some of you might be a little disappointed at your first NFL games. Levi's sucks as while the stadium is newer, more aesthetic, and better overall than Candlestick (which was a steaming pile) there isn't anything special about it. However, since it is my team, I am a lot more into it.

My college football program is weak as hell, so the games are as well.

I've been to maybe 5-6 Seahawk games since Quest field was built. To be perfectly honest, these days I'd rather watch from home. It's fun to go every few years, and would be worthwhile for a playoff game for sure. It's electric, and the stadium vibrating from the crowd is pretty cool. Food and drink are actually pretty good, but at stadium prices.

But it's a grind and a LONG, expensive day. Parking around Quest (and Safeco) is miserable. You'll pay $50 to be near the stadium. You're in for an easy 20-30 min walk to park on a street somewhere. Weather is usually so-so, and bad traffic jams getting in and out. You'll clear $200-$250 pretty quick with ticket (and that's for uncovered seating), food and parking, never mind settle in for 8-9 hrs to just get into the area and out again.

I've turned down free tickets before just becasue I wasn't up for all that.

UW Husky games are actually much better, if you can get in with someone who has the whole tailgating thing down.
