Guess he figures he'll start eventually there and then get a better multi deal next year.

I wonder if he has any gas left. He's only 32 and he's really only had PT for like half his career on account of all his injuries.

LOL sheit they ran game back in 2001 when Toronto made it to the Eastern conference finals and lost to the Sixers. Now they really are half-empty shells of their former selves. Too bad T-Mac never got past the 1st round of the playoffs, he squandered a lot of post-seasons in Houston.

For 1.2 million the Pistons can't lose on the T-Mac deal and there could be a tremendous upside. Personally I'm glad someone picked him up I just wish it was the Lakers.

Dream bigger! I wish the Lake Show could've gotten D-Wade or CP3.

Yeah but I know those weren't possibilites this year and T-Mac is a better backup for Kobe then anyone else we have right now so I think they should have signed him especially since he was going at such a bargain rate.

Don't sweat not getting T-Mac. He probably wanted to go somewhere where he could start or heavily contribute and then get a better contract. Kobe and Artest > Gordon and Rip. Just sayin

Damn, I almost forgot the Pistons had Ben Gordon.

I think TMac convinced them he's healthy enough to play, and they'll probably try to trade Prince cause he's in the last year of his contract and eventually move Tracy into the SF spot.

You think they will trade Tay over Rip? Tay plays better D but Rip is a better scorer.

That's the rumor, but it would probably make more sense to trade Rip. Prince is younger, plays better D, and has a smaller contract. Plus TMac is a natural 2 and BG takes enough shots for the whole team.

Yesterday's complete 4-team trade, in case anyone missed it...

N.O. gets Trevor Ariza from Houston
Indiana gets Darren Collison & James Posey from N.O.
New Jersey gets Troy Murphy from Indiana
Houston gets Courtney Lee from N.J.

LOL, I had such high hopes for him when he came over from the Bulls. He was an excellent 6th man in Chitown but never developed into the #1 scoring option I expected he would one day become after his brilliant career at UConn.

Lee may be a good complement to Brooks in Houston. I liked him when he was with Orlando.

LeBron: Gilbert Never Cared About Me

Heat forward LeBron James says he isn't sure Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert "ever cared" about him.

In an interview with GQ magazine, the new Miami star reiterated that coming to the Heat was the right decision for him and his family, especially after hearing comments Gilbert made after he chose to leave Cleveland after seven seasons.

"I don't think he ever cared about LeBron," James said.

LeBron is the NBA's two-time reigning most valuable player.

"Me and my family have seen the character of that man," James added.

Gilbert issued a sharply worded letter to Cleveland fans after James announced his decision in July, vowing to win a title before James does. Gilbert later said that James quit on his team, a comment that earned the owner a US$100,000 fine from the NBA.

While I think Lebron should just move on from this whole situation, I tend to agree. You don't send a letter like the one Gilbert sent when you appreciate a player.

I don't recall the Packers GM issuing a temper tantrum letter like that when Favre left. To the contrary, I think they issued a letter which wished him all the best in his future endeavors. And I think the general consensus from alot of Packer fans still is that Brett Favre is still a Packers legend.

I kinda picture the Gilbert and James relationship to be like this one episode of Fresh Prince I saw. Will Smith (Gilbert) was at a music store when his cousin Ashley (Lebron) starts singing a song while she was listening to demo on a headset - the camera cuts to Will who's eyes get wide and when the camera pans back to Ashley, she's a dancing dollar sign.

I think his starting days are over, his body can't take it any longer. Also, he signed for the minimum because he's made so much money during his career that the can afford to take the pay cut.

Then why wouldn't he sign with a contender for the minimum and get a ring?

^^Hope he does. Having a couple of championship contending, star laden teams is good for the NBA, especially in these economic times.

Perhaps no contender was interested in his services and the fact that he still thinks he's a quality starter in the league.

Being from Colorado I know that it would definitely hurt the local sports scene if he leaves, but, I don't think the current Denver team/regime has it in them for a title run. I'd rather see him in a big market and happy instead of being a star on a team that is destined for 1st/2nd round failure year after year.
