ORLANDO, Fla. -- The father of the 12-year-old boy bumped by Celtics big man Glen "Big Baby" Davis after Sunday's game-winning shot is demanding an apology.

Ernest Provetti told the Orlando Sentinel that he wrote the NBA office demanding an apology from Davis for acting like a "raging animal with no regard for fans' personal safety." NBA spokesman Tim Frank confirmed the league received the e-mail but declined to comment on it.

Video of the play shows Davis ducking behind a referee and stepping out of bounds as he ran back to the Celtics bench. Provetti told the paper it was his son, Nicholas, whose hat fell off as Davis bumped him.

Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss said Davis was not available for comment. The Magic also declined to comment.

According to Provetti (the dad), Davis shoved his 12-year-old son Nicholas with such force, that Nicholas' baseball cap catapulted into the air and his son went tumbling into his courtside seat.

He said neither Boston or the NBA has responded. And he won't be waiting around for that call.

"In the scheme of things, I still think he shouldn't have went on the sideline, but obviously nothing is going to come of it," Provetti said. "And it's better to forget about it and not incite it anymore."

He planned on going to Boston for Game 7, but thinks otherwise since his facebook was flooded with nasty e-mails on Monday.

Because Ginóbili generally plays off the bench, his minutes are not in sync with those of typical NBA starters. Before the game, Battier went to Rockets coach Rick Adelman and asked to be kept out of the starting lineup and substituted in whenever Ginóbili entered the game.

Battier's most recent life achievement is earning the title "The Kobe Stopper" as one of the best defenders of Kobe Bryant. His approach to guarding Bryant is based on his own analysis of Bryant's tendencies, combined with the Rockets' statistical analysis. For example, the Rockets have determined that Bryant is noticeably more effective when driving to his right as opposed to his left, shooting immediately off a pass instead of shooting off the dribble, and getting on the baseline or in the paint as opposed to other locations on the court. Battier then seeks to encourage Bryant to operate in zones where he has proven to be statistically less effective; in some games, his defense on Bryant has actually made the Lakers' offense worse from a statistical standpoint than if Bryant were not playing at all.[
