<---think the Cards will win tonight, and win it all in game 6. I never liked the Tigers and have thought them to be over-rated (but still a really good team) all year, while the Cards a under-rated...IMO

Rogers did dominate without the tree bukake on his hand, but he is the only consistent pitcher for the Tigers right now.
As I said before, 2 more wins bitches!

And I think everybody pretty much thought Carpenter would win last night, but personally I'm not sure about Suppan tonight. Like I said a few pages back, I think he's too inconsistant.
But then again... anybody could win tonight if the Tigers continue slumping on offense
But that's why I love baseball

Yanks pick up Cheater's option and he whines...
This guy disgusts me...he gets a $13M option picked up and he's upset...? $13M. Wow...how many African villages or inner-city places can that money go towards supporting and he's upset.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Gary Sheffield was told Wednesday that the New York Yankees will pick up his $13 million option for next season, according to a newspaper report.
Sheffield said he was hoping to test the free-agent market and get another three-year contract, USA Today said in a story on its Web site.
"This will not work, this will not work at all," Sheffield told the newspaper. "I don't want to play first base a year for them. I will not do that."
Sheffield, sidelined from May 29 to Sept. 22 with an injured left wrist that required surgery, hit .298 with six homers and 25 RBIs in 39 games this season. He played first base for the first time in his major league career after he returned in September.
"I don't know what they're (Yankees) going to do," Sheffield said. "Maybe they picked it up just to trade me. If they do that, if I just (go) to a team for one year, there's going to be a problem."
A message was left by The Associated Press seeking comment from Sheffield's agent, Rufus Williams.

He's upset because his contract wasn't extended. He wants that guaranteed money when his old roid-ridden body breaks down so he can make $13 mil in 2009 sitting on the bench.

Maybe he knows his number are in for a big dip next year.........so when he becomes a free agent next year he wont have the same leverage in negotiations in 07.
If he becomes a free agent this year,he could argue he was injured and that he should be paid according to his 05 number when he had over 30 homeruns .

If you know Sheffield, you know he's a very vocal & direct person. He tells you what he feels & doesn't hold back. The Yankees picking up his option is bad for him cause now he can't seek a deal with another team, he now has to wait it out & ask to be traded.
It's a good move for the Yankess cause now they have someone tradable instead of a free agent. I expect the same thing for Mussina as well.

Ok, seriously, I think I should go cry now.
What a weird game...that field must be pretty soggy. I still can't figure out how Rodney screwed up that throw to 1st base...should have been an easy play!

The Tigers seem to be unraveling...and to lose to an 83-win team in truly the weakest division in all of baseball is bad. To lose to the Cards is even worse.

I don't see what the big shock is, The Cards have been banged up all year, but when you have a core of Pujols, Edmonds, Rolen, and Eckstein anything can happen. They are scrappy and they play a lot of small ball, but they aren't terrible. Imagine if they had a healthy Mark Mulder and Izzy.
The Tigers have been playing solid ball all year, kind of like the 96 Yanks, but it's no shock to lose to a team like the Cards to me, with a good amount of post season experiance and pretty solid pitching they are tougher squad then most give them credit for.
I said it after I saw them beat my Mets the way they did, the Tigers are not gonna have it as easy as they think they are.

The Tigers are just giving it to us. People can't blame the field because the Cards played on the same field. I don't know how you can doubt the Cards, they did beat the best team in the NL. This is way you play the game.

Bruce Bochy to manage Giants in 07
Probably the best choice with Girardi turning us down Manny Acta being unknown and Bud Black being a very unexciting candidate.............
Now what to do with our 10+ free agents and 85 million dollar payroll.

Oh wow, I wonder how Cubs fans feel now.
Red Sox won it in 2004, Cubs shared a "curse" with them
White Sox won it in 2005, Cubs biggest crosstown rival
Cardinals win it in 2006, Cubs 2nd biggest rival winning a world series.
