One of the best catches I have ever seen. He saved the Mets season and Willie Randolph's job with that catch

Those umpires must have been paid off.

That was some bullshit,

but at the same time, our Mets really should have swung more bats.

Disappointed.

Beligerent.

Crying.

I despise the Cardinals now,

and also, give us credit for going as far as we did without El Duque and Pedro

We were out pitched to the highest degree, but I second the notion that Mets deserve credit for going as far as they did with that pieced together staff and a 40 year old ace. They lost Pedro Martinez and El Duque, who are not scrubs in any sense of the word, especially in the playoffs.

Much credit to both teams, was a great series, disappointing, but better than the Mets finishing in 3rd or last place in the division like past years.

makes plenty of sense....

As a Cubs fan you see things this way:

1. You want the Cubs to win
2. You want the Cardinals to lose, badly
3, You want the White Sox to lose
4. Although you like them, it'd be nice to see the Red Sox not win the W.S., since you 2 share a common theme

2003: Cubs lose a 3-1 lead, in which at 1 point they were up 3-0 with only 5 outs to go
STINGS bad.

2004: Red Sox win it. OK so now we're the only team with a "curse" left. At least it wasnt the White Sox or Cardinals, that wouldve sucked

2005: White Sox win it. OK that sucked major balls. We're the lonely team in Chicago without a nearby W.S. win. Its OK, it couldve been the Cardinals, which would really, really suck.

2006: ...

It's meant to be, you all should know it.

Wow. Unbelieveable. That catch by Chavez was incredible. I thought we were going to lose for sure after that catch. Suppan was awesome.

Hopefully, the Cards can get the bats going against Detroit.

I'm a bit happier now the mets lost. It was great seeing Beltron strike out looking with the game on the line. The mets final hope.....LOL

I don't see the cards beating the Tigers. They just don't have enough offense, & the tigers pitching is too good. Plus the week they have had off helps them.
I say tigers in 5.

Don't worry the Cardinals will unfortunately get swept by the Tigers.

The Cubs need to shape up because they are the only embarrassing team in Chicago. They need to join the other so far winning Chicago sports teams right now, the Bears, White Sox, Blackhawks , Bulls possibly in NBA finals , and the Fire.

The week off helps with pitching, but the hitters are gonna be cold. If we can get a win in detroit game 1 or 2... Then I think we have a decent chance. Detroit is an excelent team. GO Cards!

History has shown that rest helps more than hurts. Besides, i'm sure the Tigers aren't lounging on there couches every day, i'm sure they're doing some fairly intense workouts to get ready.

??? Willie Randolph's job? Not for nothing, but Willie Randolph will be the manager of the Mets for a very, very long time. He's one hell of a manager.

As a diehard Mets fan I'm pretty much devastated that we lost, but like most of the other Mets fans on here I think they gave it a good run without most of the major pieces they've lost since September. Most sports writers thought the Dodgers were even going to dominate the Mets, but they fought hard and should have won this series in the end. Just a really tough loss.

The big turning point in last night's game was the bottom of the 6th inning. With the place rocking from Chavez's catch and Suppan becoming unraveled after Rolen's huge error, there is no way the Mets should've left that inning without at least a lead. That blew the game apart for the Mets.

Then, in the 9th inning, with your best hitter and one of the best hitters all year, with the bases loaded and 2 out against a young closer. Carlos Beltran could have earned his huge paycheck with one huge swing. Oh well...

In all honesty though, I think the Cardinals have a better shot than the Mets would have against the Tigers, especially since St. Louis could throw some great (STARTING) pitching out there alongside Detroit. Carpenter and Suppan could match up with any two Tigers starters, and in the case of pitchers such as Kenny Rogers and Nate Robertson, I give the edge to the Cards there. Still, Detroit will win this series in 6 games in front of their home fans, but I don't think it'll be as much of a sleeper as everyone else thinks.

I was exagerating a little, but remember when Grady Little left Pedro in too long? Would have been the same idea here.

Willie is a good manager, but he is certainly not great. He has a lot to learn. No other team in baseball wanted him. He's a great baseball person, but has not shown me any spectacular managerial ability.

That being said, I think the manager is the most overrated job in baseball. He's just there to take blame, basically.

I must say I love the double standard in NY with the Mets & Yankees.
Yankees get the heat cause they are "expected" to win cause of the talant & the $$.

The mets fans are all saying yeah we gave a good run & blah blah blah, The yankees did too pieceing togther pitching & a line up all season, but still the Yankees get the heat.
If this was the Yankees & Beltran was Arod everyone today would be demanding Arod get the boot, or Willie.

All you can do is give Wainright credit for having a nasty curveball. Can't get mad at Beltran, might not have been a game 7 if not for him. Truth is the whole offense is to blame, not just for the game, the whole series.

And I don't think Weaver's run of quality starts will last much longer.

How can a manager play a World Series without being on speaking terms with one of his teams best and highest paid players,I just don't get it.
And then to have it be a big time public feud,I guess chemistry is overrated.
