Put it this way, even if cheats (i.e. Bonds, Shef, Giambi, Clemens) were on the Mets team, I'd still cheer for them to beat your Birds.
Sorry. It's principle.

Rolen better get his head out of his ass because he is worthless right now. Glavine threw him meat pitches all night and all he did was pop them up.
Red Sox all over again.

Pujols left hitless and unimpressed with Glavine

With an expression of scorn and words of disdain, Albert Pujols was defiant in defeat last night.
The Cardinals' slugger, who went 0-for-3 with a walk, flipped his chair into the leg of a reporter gathered at his locker, turned his back, dressed slowly and then faced the media with obvious reluctance.
Asked about the effectiveness of Mets starter Tom Glavine, Pujols, who lined out twice, said, "He wasn't good. I thought we hit the ball hard but we didn't get any breaks."
Pujols struck out on a changeup against Glavine in the first, walked in the fourth, lined out hard to short in the seventh and lined out to first off Billy Wagner leading off the ninth.
Asked what happened in the fourth inning when, after his walk, he misread Juan Encarnacion's fly ball to center and was doubled off first on Carlos Beltran's one-hop throw to Carlos Delgado, Pujols snapped, "Double play."
Asked what he was thinking about on that play, he said, "I didn't think anything."
Asked if he was frustrated, Pujols answered with an incredulous look. "Why get frustrated?" he said. "I can't make a mistake? I'm perfect?"
Cardinals manager Tony La Russa said of Pujols' baserunning blunder, "Let me tell you, Albert is an outstanding baserunner and I'm not exaggerating. An outstanding baserunner. Part of it is aggressiveness and, almost always, he mixes in good sense. That was the exception. When he first read it, he read blooper, but the ball hung up in the wind and basically, [it was] a mistake; a rare one for him."
Glavine avoided mistakes against Pujols and said afterwards of his game plan, "I executed the first part real well, which is facing him with nobody on base. He's a great hitter -- to say he's a great hitter is an understatement. He's the best hitter in baseball right now and he's the guy you don't want to beat you."

Classic ending to Game 4.
Hats off to Detroit for their excellent play.
It was a great season for my A's. No one expected them to even be in the playoffs, let alone the ALCS.
The A's will have their moment in the winners circle, just not today.
Always an A's fan, always will be. LOVE THEM!
See you all in April...hopefully with a new Manager.

Soooooo...how bout them Tigers?
My dad started taking me to Tigers games at a young age, and oh how I would have loved to have been there tonight! Last time the Tigers won the world series was the year I was born. It's about that time again...

Your team deserved to win, but I will be ignoring the world series.
MLB, ESPN, and FOX has a East Coast Bias and I will not support such hate towards West Coast teams. The glorification of East Coast teams by the aforementioned has happened before and they only point out negatives of the WC team during the games (see Angels ALCS trip).
But again, congrats on a dominating performance....asses

One on the right for me
A's didnt play well. Managers didnt do shit to change their syle. Wasnt meant to be. I will also be ignoring the rest of baseball's post season play.

1.) Macha left his poor performing starters in there for too long
2.) Macha didn't calm the pitcher down when he would get in a jam
3.) Macha did not change their pitch selections to counteract the Tigers decision to lay off of pitches outside the zone.
4.) Macha did not get his hitting coach to get them to change their swing selections i.e. not to swing at the first damn pitch.
Everyone put a lot of hate on Chavez, but I could tell he was not himself this series. The man has played hurt throughout the regular and post season, and that in itself caused his slowdown on defense and the loss of Mark Ellis and Bobby Crosby not coming back was huuuge.
*Sigh* I'm with Yum Yum when I say GO METS!!!!!

Yeah, Chavez was definitely playing like shit. I remember one at-bat they walked somebody before him on four straight pitches (Thomas maybe) and Chavez comes up and hits a first-pitch double play
Not that I care...I'm rooting for the Tigers. But still, that's just not good baseball. A's didn't look very good all series.
And the Cards are surprising me....I thought they would lose in the NLDS.
