Why don't the White Sox deal any players?

To be honest, I think their roster is fine...?

Sure, the starters are in a funk...but, what starting pitcher that was moved at the deadline is heads-over-heals better than the ChiSox's current starting 5...?

WTF happened to the Mets, fucking christ. They lose their bullpen workhorse and solid left fielder and get a undeveloped pitcher and an old man in their place?

Need a good arm on the mound every 5 days. But, sorry to se Izzy go. Great fielder. You guys in Chitown will enjoy watching this guy at SS.

This year's was one of the least interesting trade deadlines in quite some time. Of all the names that were being thrown around, I was expecting some big deals, but nothing. No moves for Zito, Soriano, Smoltz, Oswalt, etc. This was lame.

When it comes to MLB, rumors are usually rumors...like, most of the deals reported today are the ones you don't hear about and more or less coming out of nowhere. The rumors you hear about usually are smokescreens I suppose...kinda disappointed the ChiSox didn't get Soriano as ESPN was reporting but I guess the price was just too high.

I know, I heard that trade and said WTF. Getting a over age reliver we already had and traded away last year (because he wasn't that good) and an starting pitcher who it looks like couldn't hit the side of a barn and got put on assignment from the Pirates!

You should never swing at the first pitch unless you completely own a pitcher and knows his tendencies. I never swing at the first pitch my first 2 at bats. I hope he works out, I just hate eating another huge contract. Now its up to him and Bowa to fight over #53. Who is Craig Wilson? Who cares as long as Chacon is gone..Anyone want Pavano will trade Pavano for a slice of pizza and a coke

Dodgers weren't playing around picking up Maddox & Lugo, definate thumbs up on that.

People are talking up that maddux deal a bit much I think. He is 2-7 over his last 10 games.

I think he was sick of pitching in Chicago, he hasn't looked motivated for months.

Ok so let me get this straight. Do big league managers not read scouting reports? Do they forget to read the part that says not to pitch to Big Papi in the 9th?

Go Sox!!

So I'm not the only one watching Baseball Tonight at the moment. I was waiting to see the end of the game to watch Rescue Me. Good thing the DVR is set to record all new episodes.

Un-fucking-believable.

In their defense, it was pitch to Ortiz or load 'em for Manny. No win situation, but giving Manny the bases loaded has to start looking good at some point.

AL MVP?

Every time you Yankees fans get hold of first place for a day or two we have to listen to it, then you cough it right back over to us. Like the last time you were in first place. How long did that last? And I had a mailbox full of shit talking. Lame. Act like you've been there.

This is what happens. We Sox fans dealt with the whole 19 18 chants for years. Especially in the postseason. Now that we've got that monkey off our backs, they've nothing else to be bitter about. Oh wait. Yeah they do. They can be bitter about the $1.2 BILLION spent in payroll since their last title.

No worries, the Yanks will miss the playoffs again. Your BoSox will clinch the division, my ChiSox and Detroit will flipflop as either wildcard or division winner as well...and who cares about the West.

So, it'll all be good again.

They haven't missed the playoffs since 95 Can any Chicago team say that. The Yanks have won the division every year since 98.

AD it's all in fun, all that matters is the last game of the season and the Yanks & Red Sox are tied and the loser goes home.

Washington Nationals held on to Soriano in his contract year. Whatever, they think they can re-sign him. Otherwise they just got hozed. Lot of the rich teams wanted him, cannot believe they didn't get some good offers. GM Bowden said a starting pitcher was a must.

They got offered Santana and another dude from Anaheim. I know Baseball Tonight loved the deal. Wonder why the Nats didn't pull the trigger.

McLane fails to do the right thing for Rocket

Drayton McLane is a dead man.

The simple part of this is that the Astros (whom I love) aren't going to get the Wild Card. They're falling off and have been for a couple months now. Clemens being back in the rotation isn't going to solve all their problems and they only have him for the rest of the season. They should know that they need to make moves with a guy in what really is a contract year.

At the very least they should have given Clemons the choice.

He has had the top 5 best 2 and 1/2 year run in history. IMO a world series title for Hou if Garner was not the coach.
Incidentally, what is the record for wussy offensive run support to a pitcher?

Meh. The Prima Donna that Clemens is could've signed with the BoSox when he was taking his merry time to get ready for the season as a free agent. He chose to sign back with the Astros...so, to be honest, why is this McLane's fault? If Clemens really wanted to be with a contender that had a real legit shot at winning again, he should've gone to Boston, NY (no, wait...I take that back. ), or Chicago...?

Sure. He's good, I'll give him that...but, that doesn't change my opinion that he's a big-time Prima Donna and douchey-douche with his "should-I-retire-should-I-not" crap each season.
