Hockey: News and Discussion Thread
I do have to say, at this point, I'm very impressed with the streak. It is remarkable...probably won't see anything like this again for a very long time.
Still, I care more about the playoffs. None of this will matter without the Cup.
In other news, the guy who sings "The Hockey Song" dies...RIP Stompin' Tom Connors.

Still gets the goose bumps going...
NHLPA Executive Director Don Fehr issued the following statement this evening:
“After discussions with the Executive Board, the NHLPA has given consent to realignment, to be re-evaluated following the 2014-15 season.”

So I'm supposed to feel good about Colton Orr?
We're 0-7 vs Boston this season and last.
If Boston and Chicago continue on this pace it would be a treat to watch those 2 do battle in the finals. Both teams are wiping the floor with the competition right now but IMO, Boston is the best team in the league.

Big difference between Boston and Chicago right now is the B's are finding ways to lose in the 3rd period, Chicago is finding ways to win in the 3rd. In reality it's worse than that as the B's are losing games they were winning, Chicago is winning games they were losing or tied.
Boston is clearly the cream of the Eastern Conference so far. Given the full-retard strike, we'll never know how the Western powers match up against the East top squads unfortunately. I would've LOVED to see a Chicago/Boston game or Chicago/Pens game...

Great run Hawks! Now that the pressure is off, you can truly focus on the matter at hand, and that is, going the distance!
weird, I hadn't even seen your post.
^ At the end of the day, no one cares unless you win the last game of the season. So, yeah...the Cup is all that matters (for any team).
...well, except the Oilers. Talk about failboat for that team.

Was definitely a good run for you guys. I am just glad to see the Avs play two good games back to back for once even if they only won one of them. Hopefully it is the start to a turn around for them.
