Boston over Montreal in 5
Washington over NY in 6
NJ over Carolina in 6
Philadelphia over Pittsburgh in 7

In the West...
SJ over Anaheim in 6
Detroit over Columbus in 6
St. Louis over Vancouver in 7
Calgary over Chicago in 6

So hard to pick who will meet in the finals this year. There are so many factors that can change games, series, create upsets and surprises.

If I had to pick an Eastern Conference Final, I'd maybe say New Jersey vs Washington, and in the West, San Jose vs Calgary

Seems Calgary may be one of the bigger underdogs this year, but they also play better when they don't have high expectations riding on their shoulders. I also think playoff experience will factor into New Jersey's success. Possibly Calgary vs NJ in the finals. I really do hope the Habs pull through though. Would be nice to see a rematch of 88 MTL vs CGY

How is Calgary an underdog...? Given their playoff experience and their lineup, I'd say they are favourites against a very green team in Chicago...

It depends on which Hawk team shows up...when they have been good they have been very good.....but then there's the games where you kinda go

I agree Calgary has an edge on the Hawks...I picked the Flames over the Hawks....but if the Hawks play their "A" game...Calgary will be in trouble.

Experience matters.

Given Calgary's injuries, their latest record with Chicago, Khabi's record against Calgary, and their regular season finish, there's a lot of doubt that the Flames will move past 1st round.

However, if Calgary can get their shit together, move past the 1st round, get Regher and Sarich back (if at all possible), and they play anything like they did mid season, then they'll probably go all the way. They have a lot of depth.

Hopefully Osgood or Conklin picks up their games again to take Detroit to the finals. Detroit FTW!

I was at the game, great game, but that penalty call was a bit of a stretch IMO, or at least from what I could see up in the cheap seats. I'm still looking for a replay on youtube but am yet to find one. Also $8.75 for 24oz beers at the Joe is incredible compared to the $14 at ACC.

Meh...I'm not reading much to the smokescreen about their injuries. I believe Regher is out. But, as for everyone else, they are healthy enough to play...

Also, regular season play really means nothing. I keep saying I prefer Calgary...but, that's based off of regular season play. I'll say it again: Calgary is not the underdog given their lineup and experience...Chicago has a total of 3 players with playoff experience (Ladd, Bulin, and Pahlsson)...

..but the "goal" of the Winter Classic is to expose non-NHL fans to the game on New Years day (here in the US not Canada)...hence the outdoor "wow" factor.

The NHL needs big help to garner more fans to the game in the US.

As an NHL fan I'd love to see a Bruins Habs game....it only makes sense.

The casual non-NHL fan would rather see a Bruins Caps game featuring an "iconic" goal scorer than a bunch of ??? from Montreal.

As league champion, you have to play again. Them's the rules. If you don't play again, then the league champion title goes to the runner-up. You have to tell us whether you're playing again by tomorrow at sunrise (PST).

So who is Avery going to antagonize in round 1? Semin? Backstrom? Ovechkin? Green?

<--- Not an Ovie fan, sorry.

And yes Yummy I would like to see the Pens win it all, but not for Jonesi, for Crosby.

As a hockey fan though don't you want to see a Caps vs Pens matchup in the playoffs?

Can't root against my Flyers even though the Pens have some good momentum going. I also like Washington, Jersey and Boston in the first round. In the west - San Jose, St Louis, Detroit and Chicago. My pick to win it all would be Detroit at this point.

I'm curious how many fanboys whos team is in the running voted against their team. I think all this poll is showing us that we have no fans of the Flyers, Canadiens, Hurricanes or Ducks on the forum.
