We will have 15th locked up. 1st overall pick FTW
Not if the Leafs can't help it. The Kings look to have a better-looking team overall.

Well, I did offer you the trade of Bulin for Frolov, Kopitar, Bernier, and Doughty to ENSURE your Kings would finish dead last...but, you laughed at the offer.

You can't have and drink wine too, you know.

Wish Sundin would make a decision so we can see how the rest of the offseason is going to pan out..

Just curious how are people accepting the "youth movement" in Toronto?

We all know it has to be done so fans are fine with it. Worst thing that can happen is the team over achieves and those greedy SOBs at MLSE smell playoffs and go for it this year. The other worse thing is Sundin coming back to Toronto.

The Mcabe trade to Florida should be made official today Let the losing and march towards Tavares or Hedman begin!!

Apparently its Mcabe for Mike Van Ryan straight up.

The Leafs aren't interesting in Van Ryan or getting rid of Mcabe's 5.75 mill cap hit. (Which Florida takes over) For whatever reason, they want him out of town and out of that dressing room. Flectcher has made that clear since July 1st.

Wonder why the deal isn't done yet. They say 11am like there's one signature that needs to be signed.

The youth movement is better than the washed up veteran movement we've been seeing in the past. They took some steps in the right direction by getting rid of some of the dead weight in the off season but they still have a long way to go to be competitive.

Is it just me...or is Fletcher drafting a la proxy for Brian Burke? His entire draft this year was full of...big players. The thing is, they are big players...but, are they skilled (i.e. Getzlaf, Kunitz types)...?

Like they say, you can't teach size. Combine it with speed and skill and you have the makings of a great player.

Hopefully the team has the patience to stick with developing young talent and rebuilding over the next few years. MLSE must be jonsing to be back into the playoffs and like dom mentioned if they overachieve this year, it will make things even worse over the long term.

Jarret Stoll has agreed to a new four-year, $14.4 million contract with the Los Angeles Kings. Stoll will earn an average of $3.6 million per year.

The 6-foot-1 forward was acquired by the Kings from the Edmonton Oilers, along with Matt Greene, in exchange for defencemen Lubomir Visnovsky back in June.

Originally drafted by the Oilers in 2002, Stoll scored 36 points last season in 81 games.
Nothing terribly exciting

I guess its all in your point of view For the Sens 1 for 2 = good!

As for Tampa Bay, who knows? Meszaros had 1 season where he played really well
and then a couple of blah seasons so it'll be interesting to see how he does there.

Having some trouble choosing my keepers for this season. (League not related to our league, obviously). Anyone care to offer their input? Typical yahoo league, we start 3 each of the forwards, 4 D and 2 goalies...

I have 5th pick so I could grab one of these guys again if I don't keep them, or perhaps draft Stamkos, it depends. I'll tell you who I'm leaning towards after I get a few replies. And I am trying to trade Staal for Wolski...

We get 11 keepers...

Nicklas Backstrom (Was - C)
Jay Bouwmeester (Fla - D)
Dustin Brown (LA - LW,RW)
Sidney Crosby (Pit - C)
Loui Eriksson (Dal - LW)
Sam Gagner (Edm - C)
Jack Johnson (LA - D)
Evgeni Malkin (Pit - C,LW)
Ryan Malone (Pit - LW)
Patrick Marleau (SJ - C)
Patrick O'Sullivan (LA - C)
Kyle Okposo (NYI - RW)
Joni Pitkanen (Edm - D)
Alexander Radulov (Nsh - RW)
Bobby Ryan (Anh - RW)
Jordan Staal (Pit - C)
Ryan Whitney (Pit - D)
Nikolai Zherdev (Cls - RW)

Marc-Andre Fleury (Pit - G)
Kari Lehtonen (Atl - G)
Ryan Miller (Buf - G)
