Re: Draft time. I have another draft at 7:30pm that sunday night, so if we could bump this back to like 9:00pm instead of 8:30 that would help me out a lot...I see a few other people said a little later would be good.

Worst comes to worst I miss the back part of my earlier draft... *shrug*

Whitney... now Gonchar.. Tough break.. Time to see what Letang and Goligoski can do..

Gonchar hurt his should in a preseason game from a hit by Koci the former Pen and 4th line lifer...

That sucked I went to the game. Great fight, though.

Satan-Crosby are clicking, so that's good. Stamkos looked good, too.

No ads on the boards because the game wasn't on TV. Looked weird.

Hey was just looking at the H2H scoring...Short handed points would be a reach imo. There is barely a player with more than 5 shp in the 07 season. Just seems to me like we'd have many weeks where that score would be like 2-1. What do you guys think?

Normally, well in every league I've been in they do short handed goals so I figured short handed points would be more reasonable.

I can do away with all the shorthanded categories and have no problem with it..

Don't mean to step on your toes, but shots would be a better category than shooting percentage. Also, game winning goals is kind of a useless stat, with the shoot out goals not counting for anything. I like having SHP, though.

Any thought to increasing the roster size? We have a smallish league with 12 teams... would you want to do three each for the forward positions, and 1-2 util and leave the D and G the same? Or you like smaller rosters? It's more challenging when every team isn't loaded with superstars... And I like having 2-3 utility players because Yahoo always fucks up the player position rankings and lists everyone and their mother as a Center.

I disagree.. Shots only makes players like Ovechicken and Kovalchuckin more valuable, well, ridiculously valuable. Sh% makes things more diverse and not so one sided IMO.

GWG's is debatable. But it's always been a category. IMO it should stay.

Alot to digest in that paragraph. Not really sure where you are heading with it..

Adding more roster spots increases the number of players per team and with 12 teams in our league the only thing I see it doing is making the free agent pool more or less worthless. I would rather see more moves and trading then 3rd and 4th line players on rosters.. I would be more open to changing the LW/RW position to "Wingers" and grouped as a whole then to add more spots.

I disagree on the Utility. I understand what Yahoo! does and well most cases doesn't do. But that's part of being a coach of your "fantasy" team. Making roster moves and deciding who's benched and who starts. But adding more Util positions will more or less mean you won't need any players on the bench b/c they'll always be on your starting roster..

Fixed.

I think TSN is airing every Pre-season game this year. I'm already sick of hockey. Last night they had Edmonton @ Nashville or some other US team that no one cares about

Can someone refresh my memory on how head-to-head works? Correct me if I'm wrong here:

Each week, I go against someone in the League. And in that week, my roster goes against his and at the end, the total goals, assists, +/-, PIM, GAA, W, SO, etc. etc. are pitted against each other. So, if I beat the guy in all the categories (14 in total?), I win 14-0...?

And it does not matter if say I had one guy who went super-insane and did all my scoring, PIM and etc. I'd win them so long as the total beats the opponent's totals?

Thanks!

You got it Yummy..

And here's a screenshot I had from our first year..

Each category is worth one point as you said.

Remember the minimum goalie starts per week is 3.

And don't forget if you make a move add/drop/trade a player your roster resets so don't forget to go back in and set it again. Don't set it too far ahead.

^ Thanks, dude...

So, by minimum goalie starts, you mean, if say my goalie had two straight shutouts and I wanted to preserve that GAA, %-age, and etc., it'd be tough because I would need to start him (or whoever else I have as a goalie) once more...?

Yep.. Your "Team" must get three goalie starts a week.. Not each goalie needing three goalie starts. And yes if you don't get three starts minimum you forfeit all goalie categories..

My votes:

(1) just PP points, no breakout
(2) get rid of any short-handed points - they introduce too much of a "luck" factor into winning the weekly matchup.
