The sizzle in the Steak
Considering at the end of the season last year, you couldn't give Avery away....it's a decent pick-up for LA...once again more prospects...and more cap space....it's all about the future.

NHL Entry Draft hits prime time this year
NEW YORK - The 2007 NHL Entry Draft will be held Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23, at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, the National Hockey League announced today.
The first round will be conducted Friday night and broadcast live on VERSUS in the United States and TSN and RDS in Canada, beginning at 7 p.m., ET. Rounds two through seven will take place Saturday and start at 10 a.m., ET.

Trevor Cann of the OHL's Peterborough Petes is the top-rated North American goaltender, while right wing Alexei Cherepanov (Omsk, Russia) and goaltender Mark Owuya (Djurgarden) of the Swedish junior league are the top ranked skater and goalie, respectively, from European leagues.

Am I crazy? Stupid? Retarded? or would you guys do the same?

When released they will be $66 but I couldn't resist the urge to buy it.. It is for the Mario Lemieux Foundation, so it is a good cause..

There is definitely a lot of apprehension to make a trade in our league. (Buncha' pussies ) As a result, I think a lot of us have made some "gutsy" drops followed by some rather fortunate Free Agent or Waiver pick ups.
I'm curious, who is your worst drop and best pick up so far?
For me, it's Thomas Holstrom and Alex Semin.

The #00066 went for around $1,500 I believe and the #00087 went for around $1,000..
My boss walked in at the end of the #00071 and made me miss the end by a few seconds. Literally like 2-3 seconds.. I was pissed..
So now I have the 2nd Stanley Cup year and good ol Rick Tocchet..

Wow...Whitney scored a bunch in a hurry! 3 goals in 100 seconds...
And as luck with have it, ex-Hawk Bochenski (traded for future considerations) notches 2 goals for the Bruins.

Wost Drop - Emery - Had him for like a month or two and finally gave up, 5 days later he's the starter. That one hurt as goalies are valuable..
Best Pickup - Jason Arnott or Anze Kopitar
Although I think my trades have helped..

Your right, top-rated starting goalies are really worth their weight in gold. Who knew Gerber would suck so bad?

I don't like to bitch as hockey is hockey..
But this Gill on Armstrong shit was ridiculous.. The Ref was Staring at it the whole time and the other ref came in later. How the hell can you let it go uncalled..?? The first hit was clean but the 3 extra shots was bullshit.. Then you make 5 foot Armstrong fight 6 foot Gill to defend himself..
Fvck.. That one pissed me off..
Then 30 seconds later call a weak one on the Pens..

^^ Jonesi heard Staal had a nice one tonight.
The Bruins had an exciting victory in SO on a Chara so goal in like the 9th round...faked the slap shot and went five hole.
On the other hand, we just trade Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau to the Flames for Kobasew and Ference. I don't know how good of a D man Ference is, but obviously the trade is very one sided with the Flames getting some veteran leadership and a strong D man in the deal.
Looks like the B's knew they weren't gonna sign Stuart again anyways.
Certainly doesn't make the B's any better off imo...what do you guys think?

Interesting. Interesting.
Hey - if any of you's guys are interested, I downloaded a hockey management sim called Eastside Hockey (google for a website - I dont feel like finding it for you).
I've been playing it all weekend because the wifey is back in Toronto for a wedding. It's incredibly detailed and fun. You can download it right from their website. It's US$35.00 to buy. It's worth it, if you like sports management sims.
