^ But, you could not deal with Spezza...he's a Sen and being the Leaf fan that you are, you couldn't handle a Sen on your roster. I think it's a bad idea...it'll definitely ruin the locker room chemistry you have, sir.

but see, this is what I mean. I offer a 44th ranked player for a 55th ranked player straight up, and he doesn't bite

Everyone is too scared to trade unless its hugely in their favor.

^ Pffft...I'm offering you one of the greatest US-born players ever for a dime-a-dozen Euro-floater and you're not biting.

Thanks buddy.. I hate Islanders after last year and taking Yashin but I'm not complaining now. Although at the time I thought I was just going to drop him for another bum.

Yea but you're tough to negotiate with. When you're trying to trade a player you go by rank when they are sucking and talk about potential. But you always want producing players in return.

sorry, I can't give up my #1 and #2 draft pick for a bunch of no-names. Throw Ovechkin in the mix and then we can talk.

no names?
Afinogenov, O. Jokinen, Toskala for Kovalchuk, Timonen, Kiprusoff is pretty fair.

Like, I'm generally horsing around with my over-the-top offers obviously...but, I'm generally okay with my roster.

If I have anyone up for trade, I would consider moving Modano and Carle.

Modano, as in the guy who was just sitting around in the free agent pool until you picked him up yesterday?

Well, he was always part of my roster until he hit the IR...and I needed to clear up room for Zubov who was also on the IR.

So apparantly there's a rumor that the Pens reached a deal for a new building, then it was squashed. Any more news Jonesi?

I found this on LGP.com about the Malkin case. Someone checked up on the federal docket. And also the other cases involving Russian players were dismissed as well.

STIPULATION AND ORDER OF DISMISSAL, by, between, and among Plaintiff ANO Hockey Club Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Defendants national Hockey League and Lemieux Group L.P. d/b/a Pittsburgh Penguns, through their undersigned attorneys, Pursuant to Rule 41 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, that the above captioned action is dismissed with prejudice and without costs to any party. SO ORDERED. (Signed by Judge Loretta A. Preska on 1/25/2007) (jmi) (Entered: 01/31/2007)

As most of you can probably tell...my posting in this thread goes way down the tubes when the Bruins aren't playing well. Over the last four games they have given up 19 goals and scored 2, that doesn't translate into winning.

I wouldn't mind so much if they were losing while giving a hundred percent effort. But it looks to me like they are just going through the motions of playing a season...not backing up any teammates, not showing any grit I really don't know whats wrong with them. If they keep this up for another few games, I think Chiarelli is going to trade away some guys for draft picks

Sources: Pittsburgh arena deal not done

Amid a report by a Pittsburgh radio station that said a new arena deal between the Penguins and the various levels of government (the state, the county and the city) has been reached, sources tell TSN "the deal is not yet done."

In fact, sources added that while the Penguins are still hopeful of the deal being reached, perhaps this week, there may actually have been a "setback" in the negotiations that have been going on this week.

In any case, sources say it's "premature" to say the deal is done.

Yea, I saw that on TSN.. There's alot of rumors floating around. Our local talk sports talk show host Mark Madden said things were close to getting done. And the Tribune Review posted a article this morning:
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pitt.../s_491255.html

No one said the "Deal Was Done" all that is being reported is that it's getting closer.

I guess TSN is just reporting on the rumors also.

That's what happens when you lose a superstar netminder such as Raycroft.

Made me chuckle!!!

Funny posting from another board about Kings radio color comentator...and his "possible" comments on an upcoming appearance on XM.

"Hi Everybody is this Daryl Evans and his dog Spot!

No, not his dog spot, but if you want to secure your spot in the playoffs we have just the thing for you! Kings headquarters is filled with serviceable players that will most certainly meet your needs.

You need a stay at home defenseman? We got it! You need a puck moving defenseman? We got it! You need a 3rd line center whose a UFA at season's end? We got it!!!

Now I know what you're saying: don't have much to spend, right? Well, not a problem! Here at Kings headquarters you can acquire almost anyone of our used players with little or no hit to your current roster. Due to an overstocking in our past their prime player department, we're only looking for draft picks: 2nd round picks, 3rd round picks, 4th round picks, and you guessed it: the ever popular Future Considerations!!!

We're located in Los Angeles where the 10 and 110 meet, or if you can't make it there, come check us out at our practice facility at the 405/105 intersection. At either one of our locations, our warm friendly staff won't let you walk out that door until we've reached a deal. Heck, if you buy any 2 of our wide range of veterans and UFA's, we'll throw in a Cloutier for FREE!

So stop what you're doing and please, just give us a call.

Parlevous Francais!

It was a hell of a game. They match up great against each other. The good thing is the Pens are/were 4 points behind them.

Someone please explain this to me. Why can't the Sharks beat their Divisional opponents (Starts, Ducks, Coyotes and Kings), but can kick every other teams ass?

Sorry, just wanted to vent
