Man, that is a terribly tragic accident. Fireworks every year. They are fun when treated with respect but sadly most don't give them that. We set up concrete block boxes around our mortars so they can't fall over.

Congrats Bolts! Bummed a bit for the MTL. Would have been cool.
Hopefully, we can close the roster loophole that Tampa used.
Now on to the expansion draft.

It is, but nowhere near as impressive as the Pens when they won in 16 and 17. The Bolts would never have won back to back without the restructuring of the divisions and the seeding bs in the bubble, not to mention the salary cap manipulation. Heck, Montreal wouldn't have even made the playoffs if they were in the East. The whole thing was kind of a farce honestly

Anyways, Kucherov's presser was hilarious.

This says they did not break the rules "technically"

I definitely feel it was a bit against the good nature of the game but it was technically by the rules what they did I get it. I imagine we will see it exploited more and more now until the league does something about it. I mean why wouldn't you if you have the chance.

Not technically illegal or not, it was obvious what they were doing. Shit, if the Pens would have skirted the cap back in 17 we could have kept Fleury and Kessel and probably won 5 or 6 in a row
Were the injured during the season and had the eligibility to return for the playoffs? I don't remember the situation for the Pens back in 2017 but this is a case of Kucherov being healthy enough to return for the playoffs and so, Tampa totally milked that.
I'm a diehard Hawks fan but those involved in covering this up needs to burn: https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2179986
I have to also wonder if Bowman is indeed a lameduck GM, how this will possibly deep-6 the team for the foreeseable future...who will sign in Chicago with this stench?

Another core leaves the Hawks...Oilers trade for Duncan Keith: https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/...nditional-pick
If in the right role, Keith should be a huge add to the Oilers.

Yeah, I saw a TSN report saying that the Wild had to "go all in this year"
Um, yeah ok. After cutting all that cap I see what they mean, but that's a huge task to rebuild during an expansion draft year no matter who you are
Frankly I never got those 2 contracts when they were signed, so I wasn't surprised that they were bought out. Neither of those dudes are franchise level talents

I am reading that these buyouts are to facilitate a bid for Jack Eichel? Though, I would assume Buffalo's ask will be pretty steep.

That would definitely be a big move. Nice to see Billy G working to right the ship there in Minnesota
Yes I agree that Suter was a quality blueliner, but he only came along because he was Parise's buddy, neither should have ever got the contracts that they did

Seattle Squid's Roster
Some interesting picks but this is not final as trades are likely in the books: https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2021/07/21...roster-reveal/
I do like the signing of Larsson. Him and Giordano as the top pairing is pretty decent.
