Hey at least we got one. Calgary is about to lose their team because the city doesn't want to pay. It's a no-win situation, one way or another. Unless you're the owner. Then you win big time.

And all because the owners are throwing a tantrum that the Calgary mayor isn't an idiot? I applaud whatever that guy's name is for sticking to his principles.
Wow! Trade 1/2 the team away, give up 50+ shots in both games and 50 saves two in a row & win 2 in a row after losing for a month?
Ok, maybe they'll win the remaining 17 and squeak in!
ya right.

I would be uber-shocked if the NHL let the Flames go. A major Canuckian city with an established fan base...? That does not grow on trees...

That's not Bettman at all. He doesn't give a hoot about the Canadian market. If he did, Quebec city would have a team again. He's all about American teams. Isn't Seattle next on the expansion list? Instead he's all about leaving teams in failing markets like the panthers or coyotes, where no one gives a rats ass about hockey. He was even in support of the threats of Calgary leaving if they don't get a new arena

Are they beyond stupid?!? If Oil suck this much WITH him, can they imagine what the team would be like WITHOUT?!?? What are some Oilers fans drinking...Dumb@$$ juice?

I saw the coach sticking up 100% for McDavid on TV, saying that he goes well out of his way to support the community (tons of charity events, hospital visits to see kids, etc), and busts his back on the rink, day in, day out. They showed a clip of McDavid and he's like "yeah. I don't know what to say" and he shrugged it off and chuckled. I'm sure it eats at him a bit, but, I remember the same thing with Gretzky when I was kid. People would hate on him simply because he was good.
To put it into perspective.. Kucherov is playing on the best team in the league and he's racked up 86 points. McDavid is on one of the worst teams in the league, and has racked up 80 points. Yeah, he must really suck

Sadly it's that way everywhere, when Sid was slumping in 2016 a vocal minority in this city wanted to trade him... Trade the best player on our team and one of the top players in the world. Then he leads his team to back to back cups and suddenly everyone's back on his nuts. Just how it works with bandwagoners sadly.
I've always perceived Sid as having a heart of gold and being a true ambassador of the game. His "slump" in 2016 wasn't even that bad. He still managed 85 points. Also considering that he's making a bit less than what he could be making, only a dummy would want to trade him. He's a cap hit of under 9M. His points total this year may not be his highest, but he's still way up there. I would bend over backwards to have him on my team

Marchand's just gotta Marchand...
I mean, he's a pretty good player now...does he still have to resort to such shenanigans?
